  1. Same, done these monster hedges and a few more like them with a single sided sthil with a catcher plate for 3 years now and still cuts as good now as day out the box Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. Had a customer we dripped timber lengths of off too tell me for every ton of logs he cut himself he manually handled 7ton before it was giving off heat in the stove, he now gest split logs off us. Like you say presentation of timber before it comes back to yard is a big help like cutting out forks, ringing to correct size or into bits that will neatly cut into 2-3 even bits, if your using a big billet splitter try and cut bits on site that will fit exactly into it when you get back to maximise each ram stroke. I quite like the idea of the billet system where they dry in a big stack then get cross cut directly into the delivery vehicle. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app

  7. They do look nice boots bud, at the moment I'm sticking with my altberg boots that are made in Richmond to military specifications, light comfortable and high to hold my dodgy ankle together but those look like they would be high enough to do the same unlike most ankle hight walking boots these days. 8. Cheers richy Good point about it fitting on with other gear as I reckon it will fit in the little p7 trailer with the hb20 if needed. Going to take a little re education the lads after being spoilt by running big chippers for so long. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. Anybody seen the new m250 yet as could be just the thing for a contract we have picked up which on occasions involves extra travel outside our normal comfort zone so 1 of those in a trailer behind landy mewp is a all in 1 unit for doing these pruning, shaping and clearing lights nd camera's jobs. 10. Floor and walls are lined with pallets and walls have vent holes on them from when it was a cattle barn, we get plenty of wind on our area so have almost constant air flow through the heap, drys very quickly thankfully. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. The hb20 will get to places your avant won't stand a chance of getting but that'll be less hard work when you can get to stuff. You'll resell a purpose built machine any day of the week should you change your mind and want a bigger machine bit the predator I'd say you'll end up stuck with as has a limited market. 13. Any view on the farmi winches, really liked the look of the 5 ton model build quality and had a rachet brake which I've always liked for tipping trees for its reliability and control at taking in just a smidgen of line if needed. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
