  1. Shame they don't do a 8 ton machine with the same ethos as that'd suit a lot of us needing a capable but compact machine.
  2. Will you be selling at the apf Rob as got a few things I'd like to pick up inc one of these?
  3. Thank foook that's been done, was getting hassle to do it again but just haven't got the time or the inclination to do more rope access strimming than we already have this year. Stunning views on that job along the river ain't it.
  4. Is that a mini beast shredder or a chipper?
  5. [emoji49] Grrrrr
  6. Done it again bud, answered a question by causing more questions. Take it we will be seeing you next week??
  7. Farmi winch this time somehow managed to chew the main Shaft so the drum would no longer slide back off the clutch so had to strip it last night and get a new one in and bushes on the inside of the drum.
  8. Deadwooding big limes yesterday with a very tight timescale on a development site so went big and got a 37m mewp in and had a double picker day.
  9. Shame it's not a bit bigger as seriously thinking of going down the 6 - 8 ton size for various jobs. Looks a good machine for someone.
  10. You've been on here since 2013 and not sussed marks sense of humour yet have you....[emoji6]
  11. I know, scandalous ain't it.... [emoji6]
  12. Nope, just got to get it sopping again [emoji12]
  13. The bit I'm proudest of, just got a mesh cap to make to finish it off [emoji4]
  14. 200hrs and ours was almost a hole so had the back cut out and a full length piece of 4mm rolled so I could weld it in, which is how it should have been from day one really, apparently we were chipping too much big timber and had rolers to fast so too much chip hitting it.
  15. ?F,ING hope not! Had a look at it and seems good at moment.
  16. Thought I'd post a update on our cherrypicker here, some might know we have had a few problems with the engine gearbox and transfer box resulting in getting them all reconditioned at rather a lot of coin then finding the front diff was knackered as well so while it was in bits I replaced some damaged panels and gave her a Spruce up and some new cab protection which hopefully will save the windscreen and bonnet from stray branches. Should turn a few heads now [emoji106]
  17. Yeh oops its costly visiting these places. Soon the office answer will be reviled one and for all Apparently
  18. No the 260 was ours, bought from global, electric controlled roler spools with a long lead on so good for crane feeding as someone can stand well back if feeding with a digger or in cab if feeding with same tractor it's on, it's a nice sound simple machine and preduce lovely flake chip. http://masonwoodchippers.com/listing/farmi-ch260-woodchipper-p74/
  19. Easy to overload your rear accele with a schliesing especially a 550 which is why a lot of people front mount, the farmi might have its failings but kept sharp it chips as well as anything else and is light and compact to carry, John Mason still has my old one for sale at a good price. For front mount it really depends on if you want to go din plate mount or have front links, the din plate means it's close coupled so easier at junction and less leverage on front but generally quite high to feed but linkage gives the option to swap onto the back if you also have a reversing box for the pto and it can be dropped onto the floor but might struggle to blow back over the cab.
  20. Yes and they basically all said not interested, that's 3 company's. One for machines, one covering 2 landrover and one for tractor and Rb44 Basically leaves it with the benefit of a better chance of getting my gear back and working faster. Going to get big bills for cherrypicker repairs out the way and see how we look towards end of quarter.
  21. Na I've ran my one all day doing multiple stumps continuously with no tidy up and used 40ltrs. Yes it's going to drink a lot but you grind a lot in that time. If your overly worried about fuel consumption you need to do one of 3 things Maintain your teeth better or continuesly replace for sharp ones to cut as fast as possible and grind efficient with lots of pre digging. Get a smaller engine and spend longer doing the job so more operating hrs and less jobs done per man hr. Spend a whole heap more money and buy a diesel machine you won't get in to half your jobs. Choosing a grinder is basically all about compromise as no one machine is perfect for everyone so it's about what works best for your target client and to me the zt ticked the most boxes without blowing my bank account to bits as grinding is only an additional service to us and not a main money spinner.
  22. Looks really good Going to phone my insurance company tomorrow and find out if it makes any difference to them as that might bump it from two to five getting ordered [emoji106]
  23. Screw off every time! quick pore never keep stuff as walm as just don't have the insulation in the lid
  24. Yeh I remember you'd just come back nd I think I pissed you off by asking if you were a climber or just another brash rat [emoji56] long while back. Ta yes I want to modify my little topper to a better bar nd chain, getting it spudded..... Now that's an interesting idea. Much improved?
