  1. The correct channels are too contact the dvla and vosa and explain honestly what the vehicles is and its future use and say simply is this ok and can I have that in writing, they say yes BUT it must run on white and must not be used for things like helping some1 move house (ther example not mine) I carnt quote psalm and verse off the bible on this as dont know which page its on. This is why I dont discuss my sons serious medical condition on open forums as some1 will read something on the internet, interpret it there way and tell me something different too the people who's job it is too deal with these things. Im not saying im right or your wrong or vise versa just that this is how it is and it alowes me too get on with my work with the minimum fuss and maximum efficiency within a budget I can afford and frankly sod those who dont like it .
  2. Why who do you know has 1 off them and how do you get it as would have been a darn site easier than doing it all through the correct channels like I had too?
  3. Starting too think you have some deep seeded resentment against my truck and mogs johny, any perticular reason or are you just playing devils advicate for the sake off reaction
  4. No they are a 5.2 t gvw with a plated 2.3 towing capacity giving 7.5 gvtw but all that is only relavent if you get court outherwise fill the bugger up and go for it like every tree bloke with a transit will on a daily basis, just look at the overloaded thred for examples.:eek:
  5. Most awkward stem iv had too get a saw into too fell but was soft as owt with only a little sound cambium around the edge
  6. the tow cabability of a rb44 is to do with max gtw so a fully loaded truck with full trailer can only be a max of 7.5ton nothing to do with what it is actualy capable of pulling. I did finde a milatry spec document on this truck saying it was within itts safe capabilitys to tow around 5.5ton on and off road.
  7. Only in the usa, that must have cost a fortune too do.
  8. Still behaving like peter pan but doing ok for himself.
  9. He's grown, looks happy little lad, enjoy your times in a proper county with family
  10. As doing local authority roadside tree work I need to make the truck more conspicuous so people dont miss it ??? So I have a choice off white, too tranny like. Yellow, like a council truck Silver, you can have too much silver. Light blue like a old fountains truck Or orange , any1 remember that mog in a thred about sculpture dismantling, so something like g4 orange it will be. Thanks everyone for the posative reaction.
  11. The day before I got the rb44 back:rolleyes:
  12. Yes had it filled a few times, towball droped a whole 2 inch when full of yew chippings so handles it well, corner's normaly full but I tend to be a steddy away sort of driver so helps, towing is a dream as so much pull from the perkins, mpg no idea but no worse than the landy but better as not having to empty off 2~3 times a day. The winch is fantastic as just pulls with so much controle, just looking into making it remote controle. Sign writing getting done next week and with luck cab getting painted soon too. Its no more numb to get in places than a transit or pos the landy but having the flap in the headboard has helped. Loving it:thumbup:
  13. Lie in till 7, a lovely lets wake daddy up by jumping on him by my two kids, alowed to make everyone breakfast and then alowed to go mow the lawn but its a nice sunny day and got myself lots of present's on friday so staying happy
  14. Nice 1 steve, good result and only gave away 1 tshirt well done that man... Going to have to dig out the bracket I made a few years back and get a target set up again for a bit of relaxing axe yucking at the end of the day. Wife preferred the tshirt I got this year to the red I got last year
  15. Some seriously big toys in that lot. 1st time iv ever seen that trailer air burner set up, is that just to keep the burn under controle in a small area? That big red 360 grinder has served you well as remember seeing that years ago in fmj when you 1st built it.
  16. Same, large oak shed a big limb over a hedge at 8.45 on a still morning, was so luck it was half term as was right opposite a primary school and that side of the road is normaly full of shiny 4x4 dropping kids off, could have been so nasty!
  17. Have been thinking of going on to bio chain oil for a while now after a few spilages on driveways and complaints about it and at the price buxtons are diong it will prob order a few on monday if i dont pick up any at the arb show tomorrow. My guess is that it will wash off a lot easier than normal oil? cooking oil looks a good option when carving!
  18. Not wanting to derail but can you still get one of those fillers to fit a jerry can and who might sell them?
  19. I always thought it was for that little grease pump thing you use for putting red fluid grease into origon/husqvarna bar tips or at least thats what I stick in that holder.
  20. Burdens at dunfries is a fair bit further north but might be at the wrong side for you, I think they had a few greenmech chippers.
  21. Looks good, get some strong mesh for the head board so you can still look out if a bad reverse in and stop you putting a lot through the glass.
  22. Why ow why did you put a link up to freeworker, this could cost me a fortune with all the mint stuff on this site and thats just the mobile expreso makers they sell.......
  23. Dont know why that came up twice, cheers silky am hoping as its different it will be noticed more and be a good advertising tool as well as a good workhorse.
  24. Good man, that the spirit Just typical after 2 weeks of solid tree cutting, filling the landy and forking off chip I get my truck back and have a week of stumpgrinding, milling and inspection work Only took 1 pick of it getting its 1st chip on friday was a tight reverse down, must remember to open the barn doors before reversing down such narrow drives.
