  1. Congratulations to you and your Mrs.
  2. My 560xp has just got kicked back to the dealer for some problem, just stoped and will not start again, it fires but will not run, falty coil/carb problem acording to the teck bloke. Its getting hooked up to a computer tomorow for a good talking too and with a bit of luck it will be back working again aparintly could have something to do with this mad weather, cold and wet one day and hot sunny the next messing with the auto tune. we shall awate the phonecall tomorrow!
  3. excellent photos, what happened to your knee looks a bis painfull!
  4. Nice little vid of morning coffee to go with the pic Stephen, where is that? Looks tranquil at that time of day. Darn just spotted last post
  5. Big ganodernam body On a fagus, if you can spot the little red tag on top its one of them little tag type keyring. Tree is covered in them up too about 20' up.
  6. Today was remodeling the front garden with some help from apprentice digger drivers. My little lass got on quite well and apart from which way for the bucket crowd got the controllers quickly and was loving loading the trailer.
  7. That's trippy Chris but kind of catchy Just lost about half an hour of my life watching some more vids by the same guys, classy stuff.
  8. My thoughts on this are that you should have the kit On site near the tree incase something happens, don't wonder about On the ground with a harness on looking like a ponse as you will have to take all your gear off it to be able to work safely if at all and this will take far longer to replace and you might forget a vital item than it would take to put on a fully equipped modern harness with quick clips. If the climber feels the situation carries a higher risk they should plan for an escape should anything happen. If the whole job is of a high risk to the climber shouldn't we be Mewp ing it according to all the hse bumf, ideal world I know. Had a situation a while back when I subbed in a very experienced bloke to grounds for me as had a rig down that needed a delicate approach, didn't bring his Kit as New I was climbing but I had him down as rescuer, luckily only 10 min from home so nipped back for my spare kit and all was ok but if this was an hour away would I have called off the job? Not sure?
  9. And so much like my 1st climbing instructor, Dave Ford it's an uncanny likeness.
  10. Go for the 560, I have had a few problems with mine but all sorted quickly under warranty but mate's have had them and the worst problem has been a blunt chain. Best saw I've had in last 15 year, would get another tomorrow if I needed it.
  11. Bit of road side clearance for the past few days, under this wall of ivy is a historic listed park wall that we have to clear of trees so some poor sod can strip the ivy and 're point it with lime morter, all 3 miles of it  Matty loves playing with the sidetrack on the verges, hasn't half saved some time when we need to get past with the Mewp and it chips everything we give it
  12. Fantastic with Harry and Ronnie, how they both kept a strate face I don't know
  13. Self employed Groundsman needed for two weeks to help clear roadside historical wall and verges of all trees and overhanging branches. Saw and chipper ticket preferable, must have own ppe and be able to get too site approx 6mile north of Richmond. Possible further work if contract increses. Please pm me if interested with rates.
  14. As long as its not the all important nose picking finger as have you ever tryed using another, it just don't feel right:p
  15. Don't let the hsc spot you using log splitter like that as I know 2 people who have lost, crushed fingers in just that way, not including my own finger. One I believe ended in a prosecution. Wish I had somewhere to wash off the kit more especially when the salt starts getting put down!
  16. The cedre tunel in portugal is stunning but would hate to have to deadwood that lot. some interesting shots of roots as well. Good post.
  17. Solution or compromise not sure which but how about the husky battery top handle saw, light, quiet, high chain speed so neat cuts, just a thought;) Silky of choice at the moment is the yellow handled tusurgi(I think) in a saw pod, def stronger than it looks.
  18. This is what I used a few year back, botex 360tl with the farming bolted onto the crane frame, quick swap of hoppers and back to hand feed.
  19. 2nd what mattyf said will try and find a pick of how the one I used to drive was set up for you.
  20. Had about 10-15 tanks in mine now and loving it! But will be changing the chain when I next go to the dealers for something less kick back safety type. Even my mate who is a die hard s stihl fan and scoffs at my husky's normally used if for an afternoon and is going to order 1 next week.
  21. Stihl for me too, never felt the need for the angle head but did bust me nose On Friday trying to overreach to cut a branch, a real time saver in my eye's! + got a hedge cutter head for it which is useful for hacking back or wide tops but a little heavy for fine trimming. Shame husky don't make the backpack model anymore as that was a beastly of a tool
  22. New vid with arborX boys looks good, that truck must take so much of the hard lugging out of a day's work!
  23. Update, shifted all my business insurance to arborisk as they could offer 250000 single On multiple up to the value off cover as well as a good price for public and employees liability
