  1. Silly question, did you disconnect the battery before welding? The electrical problems could be a bad earth, which in turn may cause a rolller issue. There should be a breather within the hydraulic circuit somit should not need bleeding
  2. Both. If i am working in the back garden and i can persuade the customer to keep the chips, then i take chipper to the trees, no dragging. If i am taking the stuff away, i use the timberwolf road tow. Also, if i need mulch for a job, i chip stuff with the eliet, it gives a much nicer chip Yes its not as fast as a 6inch, but it can really handle some nasty stuf thanks to its wide opening
  3. I have one, see my avatar! Mine is on a road trailer, but i can take it off and wheel it to the job, its powered. The conveyor is an option, which stols stuff dropping on the floor. They have recently red designed it, with a clutch for the shredding knives, wider opening, and a chute for the discharge that uses some weird fan system, something my machine could do with. Would i buy another? Yes, in a heartbeat its awesome. As for shredding pallets, they are clowns. You will need to replace the blades. Ih, and be careful how you orientate the blades and bolts, do it wrong, and you lose the bolts!
  4. Great attachments those. My mate hates it on his machinem, reckons it shags the pins and bushes by shaking the machine all the time!
  5. I once emailed a seller about an obvioisly stolen crusher he was selling. I asked for the serial number, amd he emailed back, "f☆☆☆ off". Reported him to ebay. They did nothing and its still for sale, missing its safety features amongst other things
  6. Fair enough, but the stuff i deal with always seems to be awkward and knotty and just as time consuming!
  7. Why sell at a cheaper rate? Its the same amount of effort and time to process it! I am burming old fence and gate posts. All softwood, some oak. some have been a fence post for 20 years. Well seasoned.
  8. I brought a brand new wessex compact tractor trailer. It turned up with great patches of rust on it. I sent it back, and when it came back, great sections of green paint were peeling off, somit had to go back again! Its ok now, but it seemed the paint job was not great. I once had a tipmaster tipper body fitted, sides sprayed to match the truck. Same thing happened. When i queried why the truck paint was ok, but tipmasters wasnt, the reply was " nissan spend £50 million on their spray booth, we spent £50 thousand!. Never buy a white vehicle. They are all sprayed white as a base coat, then if you want a colour its sprayed over the top, so you get a better paint finish. I suspect the jcb just uses yellow as a base colour, hence the rusting
  9. How many times have you damaged the boom ram in that position?
  10. Jcb do make some great products, and whilst i have not tried their new stuff, my experience with the local jcb dealer to me doesnt inspire me with much confidence to rush out and buy one. They couldnt fix what turned out to be a simple fault on a beaver hydraulic power pack.
  11. Sorry, but brexit has nothing to do with it. All our decent excavators come from non eu countries, our trade with them will continue just the same as it does now. But lets not get into debate about that, thats a whole other thread
  12. It use to be the case that any jcb under 13 tonnes was not worth bothering about. Their micro is not god to drive, and too much plastic panels on it to be robust enough in the demands of work. Imhired a 3.5 tonner for a job, just didmnot feel smooth and comfotable to drive compared to others. Maybe the new ones are better.
  13. I stripped down an entec, and took the parts to a local place in hemel who shot blasted it and powder coated it. Cost me about 300 from memory. Worth it if you want longevity, otherwise do whats suggested above
  14. Out of interest, why do they not set it up at the factory to be up to power?
  15. You might be right, although lat 3,5tonner i hired it was on top
  16. Thats the way forward, after all, i am not paying for it!
  17. Sounds like this job is more trouble than its worth! It would be ok if i could guarantee that pedestrians and motorists pay heed to what we are doing!
  18. Cannot for the life of me see why some manufacturers still put the main boom ram on the underside instead of the top. No way would i ever buy a digger with that configuration
  19. Pricing up a reduction on a cedar, part of which overhnags a road.,its not a main road, but is well used. My climber has said a stop go sign system will suffice, but can anyone advise if i need permission to carry out this and what signage is required?
  20. Mine are stored in a barn in a valley and it does work, not sure about a container though. Once the plant comes out of the container you can trace it
  21. I was surprised by the claim, the app tells me the battery life daily, it on 97% and had it 6 months. So far so good
  22. I had a box for my cabstar made by those guys. Leaked like a sieve. I now use commercial body fittings, based in welwyn. They supply the hoxes nissan now use on their cabstars, and they were surprisingly cheap, and lightweight www.cbf.uk.com
  23. Yes. The tracker uses a sim card to send a gps location once a day at a set time to the web server of the trackunit people. Thats the only time it needs power, so therefore it uses very litle power in a year. I can set it to send a location every half hour if i suspect the machine is stolen, and this reduces battery time
  24. Ah. Ok. But if someone doesnt get the licence, what are the consequences, and who enforces it?
