  2. Out of interest, I have a 20 year old 044. Is this the current day equivalent?
  3. That is the discovery commercial, priced at around 44,000 . No thanks That'
  4. Why ever not?
  5. I note the radiator on the engine on my enter has no header tank for the water. I topped up to where I thought the level should be, and noted that after each use, a little of the water had seeped out the overflow pipe. Now, after 25 hoursnuse since the full refurb, the level is just below the find inside. Is this the correct level I should be maintaining?
  6. I only ask as I have seen people towing them without the spout and i thought it was something to do with aerodynamics whilst driving!
  7. Any reason why the shoot was taken off the chipper?
  8. Www.solwayrecycling.com Not sure on their delivery prices, but it was reasonable at the time as a brought 10 sheets
  9. No, they have a rough surface. You are more likely to skid on ply
  10. 6mm are £27 plus vat, 9mm are £40 plus vat
  11. Brought a load of 9mm sheets of plastic about 10 years ago for running machines on, they never rot, will take a 10tonne tracked machine and are much stronger than ply
  12. geoshite we call that stuff. avoid like the plague unless you want a call back in a year or two when it fails
  13. Worst thing for me was climbing in a mewp in a rush on a big conifer cutting job at a school, on a deadline and mewp booked for a week turned up at 11am first day. Got up to start cutting, forgot to wear chainsaw trousers, and noticed as I was cutting my trousers going round the chain. Had cut into my shin, removing a section of bone. Never felt a thing till about 6 hours later. 1 week in hospital, and was released the night before I moved house.
  14. Nope, not yet, but I suspect it wont be long!
  15. treated myself to this little beauty! what a beast. will lift upto £1700kg
  16. Yes it was!
  17. just to resurrect this, the same problem happened on another machine. this time, i happened to notice a website etched onto it and a part number, so i phoned them. Turns out these are specifically made for this manufacturer and no one else. I couldnt have got through to a more helpful guy on the phone. I emailed me a schematic diagram of the block, and told me the parts i need to remove. Its a check valve inside that has got stuck. I found it, removed it, blasted it with an airline , reassembled and hey presto, up and running!
  18. Just a warning to all. I hired a crusher to a vosa guy the other day, and got chatting about his job. They are pro actively clamping down on the use of tractors and trailers, and indeed unimog that are being used with no o licence and running on red diesel. This combination can only be used to travel between your own land and fields. Hauling logs back to your yard, moving diggers etc is all now being stopped. Watch out!!
  19. Thanks. I have done some big engineering stuff and rebuilds, but an engine is just beyond my capabilitiess on my own. I might send it away
  20. Have not noticed it to be honest, but today the fumes smelt different if that makes sense?
  21. Sure if anyone is familiar with these engines. Its a single cylinder air cooled diesel. Just lately, the engine will run all day,, but loses all its sump oil. There is no external leak, engine rums fine, starts ok etc. Just wondered if this fault is a simple fix, or is it a new engine job. I presume the oil is getting up into the cylinder head and burning off, in which case piston rings?
  22. this new site does not work on my tablet. cannot reply to any thread any thoughts?
  23. The relay woukd be specific to the tipping gear manufacturer. What make is the vehicle?
  24. When you say stockboard, are you talking about the black plastic sheets?
