  1. I saw this on the Facebook page. any idea on exact location, as I know aylesbury quite well, its not far from me
  2. I was told you should be able to twist it so it's almost 90degrees and no more, then its correct
  3. Yes, in fact I have since come across someone else its happened to. I was also poo pooed when I mentioned way back at the start of this thread that deaths in care homes was not factually correct, but it's now been confirmed much further afield to be true.
  4. Spoke to someone the other day who booked a test. He couldnt turn up in the end, but they sent him a text to say he had tested positive.
  5. Well the changeover valve was a non starter. Its huge and no where to plumb it in on such small machine without it being in the way. I enquired about a kit from kubota to change it to two way, and it was over £700. So I think I will just drill one way and hope it doesn't get stuck!
  6. I brought an eliet super prof, was about 10k from memory. I wouldnt be without it now, and might consider upgrading to the latest spec machine which has a debris thrower rather than conveyor
  7. If you are using it for a roller, you have to specify that as it need to built for point loading. The propstands only touch the ground as required. If they touched before you loaded, you wouldnt be able to pull them back up again! I put 2.7tonnes on this without issue so far. I take it Brian James are aware of your issues?
  8. Oh joy, Another thread on who's chipper is the best! For me, look at the greenmech, especially the evo. Whilst timberwolf may be a good make, it appears that greenmech are more forthcoming on here with answers to problems and technical questions , timberwolf just tell you to ring them.
  9. Here is my video. Btw, I wasnt paid to do this in case anyone thinks I might be on commission!
  10. Have a look, at their Instagram page. They are in the process of interviewing owners ,filming them , and the results are currently being added. My video will be online tomorrow, but there is one now from Peter Woolnough, a member here, on his tipper. He, like me, is moving away from ifor for a number of reasons. Brian James are the second largest trailer manufacturer , and bearing in mind they do not do livestock or horse trailers, that's quite impressive. Ifor has been sold to the Chinese with production moving abroad. It's time to jump ship
  11. Yep, although I know it will move side to side as required
  12. I am looking at buying one to make my morticed fence posts as my fence supplier will not stock. Can you tell me the width hole it makes if you plunge it in and out again?
  13. Just to make things crystal clear, I stated at the end of my update that the guy can reset the engine to its 35hp status, but I need to make it clear that he will not do it for you, just that he has the capacity to do it. In other words , it can be done, just not by him. And I would also make it clear to any manufacturers who get on their high horse, that it's up to us as purchasers what we do to our machines, so if we want to spent 26k and then get more power from it, we can, and we will
  14. I feel sorry for Pete, his hands are tied, and is having to stick to silly rules. But, it's possible to alter the settings without anyone knowing! But, has anyone ever heard of any kubota engine component failure requiring warranty work? They are pretty bullet proof
  15. I dont think if the police pulled you they would be interested if the machine had a ce plate, they would be more interested in working lights, correct tyres and coupling devices, and if you had the correct licence to tow it, assuming its not a sub 750kg machine!
  16. Agreed. I recently brought a brand new kubota oc95 engine for a crusher refurb I was doing. Fitted it, sent the whole machine off to have the wiring done on it for the crusher electrics, and they informed me the regulator was faulty. They supplied a new one, and fitted it and charged me, which was fair enough as they didn't supply or fit the engine. When I went back to the supplier, they couldnt help unless I took the whole machine to them, so they could do all sorts or tests and diagnostics on the engine! Why they couldnt just test the faulty regulator if I sent it to them I don't know. To take the machine to them would have cost me far more than just buying and replacing the regulator .
  17. Pete, I think you are somewhat getting a bit excited. By changing it back to 35hp, the machine will run exactly as all the other dhb150 machines they sold . Insurance wont be affected, as let's be honest, if its stolen, they wont refuse to pay out if it's been altered to 35hp!,and how would anyone know? As long as when the machine leaves the factory it conforms to the regs you have to stick to, what happens after then is up to the individual I know this has Ben discussed on here and other forums many times, but the bottom line is that some rules really shouldnt be there! It only seems to be chippers its affecting, I recently brought a 40hp kubota tractor, no ad blue, no dpf etc.
  18. Right, update. Got it fixed with the help of bart chipper doctor, look him up on Facebook. He worked at timber wolf for 7 years, and has now gone on his own. He came to my yard and I shadowed him whilst we rebuilt the flywheel, balanced it, etc. So first, the new fans were fitted, as the old ones had mulled themselves inside the chipping chamber, then new nose shaft, blades, and main bearing and housing. Then the whole thing placed on the balancing jig you see in the photo. He spent a lot of time balancing the rotor, adding a few extra washers to the fins, longer bolts here and there, all until it was almost perfect. It's what timberwolf do at the factory to all their machines. Next we hoisted it in using the digger, set the front bearing housing up,and bolted it in. It spun freely. Then we attached the rear housing, but upon doing so, noted that the nose shaft was now rubbing on the housing. We adjusted this by simply hitting the shaft further in to the front bearing. Once this was done, housing cover replaced and rear bearings fitted, packing them with grease. Rotor span freely, so it was on with fitting the roller box, funnel and re wiring the controls. ,next was fitting pulley and belts. Once running , it was noted that the pulley moved back and was rubbing on the housing, causing sparks. So, off it came and repositioned further forward, only for it to do it all again! So, we tried to adjust it and happily after the third attempt, all was good. It looks like the pulley block was worn. All screwed back together and running, but not tested on any timber yet. All in all, he charged me £370, including new bolts, new fan sections, and travel time from Ipswich . It took 6 hours in all. I cant recommend this guy enough! Oh, and if anyone buys a new wolf with a 25hp engine, it can be changed back to 35hp if you know what you are doing
  19. Failed birch, too dodgy to climb, next to busy road. Leauguan access platform to the rescue.
  20. I have a mate who previous to being a fireman, was an arborist. He has all his tickets, and I now use him for all my climbing ! He also hires my chipper for his private jobs, and I use him to help me on labouring. So yes is the answer to your question
  21. I had a good look today, when you press the pedal, its attached to the huge valve bank where all the control levers go, and its go a blanked off spool that looks like it can be plumbed into. I now need to decide if to do this, or buy the digga flow changeover valve!
  22. Well having had a poke around the machine, it's going to be a tricky job. But it would appear from research that digga make a two way flow changeover valve that clamps onto the drive unit, specifically for diggers that only have a hammer circuit! Just waiting on costs!
  23. On my kubota k008, I have two hydraulic ports, one labelled p, which is pump, and one t, which is tank. I have been able to plug in my jcb beaver breaker into it, press the pedal, and use it fine. If I push the pedal the other way, the machine bogs down as if there is a restriction. I have just purchased a post hole digger for it, and same thing, it goes round one way but wont reverse. I'm assuming I need to open up the machine and plumb something in somewhere, but not sure how. Has anyone else encountered this?
