  1. long story! mothers friend is an inspector with local force who's helped us greatly,he's told us to keep the recovery charge receipt and he'll claim it back for us as we didn't order the recovery tax payers money i assume.apparently i can also raise a case against the guy who was in illegal possesion (who still contests ownership) for loss of earnings, don't think i'll bother, just glad to get it back
  2. quick update guys, off to nottingham at 6am to pick up my trailer.got 2 sore knees and full of man flu, gotta pay 250 quid to release it (reclaimable) but i'm absolutely bouncing!! taken a while but we got there
  3. i logged up a local guys pile last week, mostly conifer, sycamore and cherry,8-15",took me 3 hours, left it all in rings for him to split/stack and clear up sawdust,i reckon he had 8 cube,£560 at my price delivered, charged him £90,he did ok outta that one!
  4. As above, job and knock for a days money,be nice to meet another arbtalker, nothing too strenous,7 cypress in a large garden,my knee has gone
  5. feedback said item fake, not as described, total conman.i'm really offended.i should've stuck them on here, still will if the other guy don't collect
  6. i'm still thumping but i think its my pride! i should've offered him free delivery by my hormonal missus...axe included
  7. Just a quick therapeutic rant! put some brand spanking mud terrains on the bay, clear description,2 kumho kl71,2 camac terra, all same size, similar pattern, winning bidder contacts and says "just read description properly and not what i want" no worries, sent second offer to A N OTHER and he bought them, tonight i have been left bad feedback by winning non-paying bidder! how can you leave bad feedback for something you aint bought or payed for?!!!
  8. Done a deal yesterday on a cabstar tipper,02 plate,100k,2.7td,single axle.I was just wondering if anyone knew what i can legally tow with it as i will occasionally be needing to tow a small-medium ifor, also oil change intervals etc and any common faults and characteristics to look out for, thanks, steve
  9. Fourtraks are great IMO.My one is a 94 reg, done 170k,uses no oil and is great off road, its even got electric mirrors and air-con! I need something bigger and do little off road work now so its for sale if anyones interested
  10. 7-10 days average for me once the season gets going,if they can't wait or desperate i sometimes give the option of an 8am sunday delivery, don't like doing it but keeps the wolves from the door
  11. Kumho kl71's for me,superb and alot less than goodrich! I've done 35k on them now and the fronts are about gone, rears are 50%,phenomenal off road, bit noisy on road, and they look the business if you're vain! I got mine from CAMSKILL in cumbria, next day,61 quid each with VAT and delivery
  12. Railway? Sites? Gives a clue! What's the 'other' works? sounds exciting
  13. For's and Against's IMO.I have 30,31 etc, windblown, pts, cscs, forklift, tractor and so on.the only thing i learnt anything on was the windblow course, techniques for trees under stress.I regularly climb large trees with no ticket,i learnt from my uncle who's in his 70's and still climbing (with no ticket),if i do site work i get a climber in with a ticket and have a rest.I think it helps if you can climb or cut, being experienced at one you can learn the other
  14. very true,i sold for years in 1/2 ton-1 ton loads (appx) now in cubes,i even tell new customers once they stack it,it will lose a third with air space. As a sales pitch i think a ton sounds better than 2 cube but i wouldn't do that now

    49cc echo

Well they got back to me today with a final price.£450+vat,far too expensive IMO,i can get a 346 for far less, list is £540+vat!! I dont think they'll sell many at that, only to farmers

    49cc echo

just popped into my village tractor garage tonight for some 2 stroke oil,i have a pint with the proprietor most weekends, tried to sell me an echo or two, picked up a 60cc-ish model, not impressed, felt cumbersome and averagely built.picked up the smaller one, felt good, chuckable and strong! they don't do demos so i took it off the shelf, fuelled it up,warmed it up then revved it.I have to say it felt responsive, offered with a 2 year warranty and the on/off switch was metal like the old jonsered/dolmar quality.I think it was a 31 something model??? anyone any experience good or bad of them?
  17. truly a classic
  18. Withnail and I,are you the farmer?
  19. Been looking for a month now,few and far between.my budget is 3k tops so i know i won't get a minter for that money but will live in hope! not needed till september so if anyone comes across a 'good un' let me know.(budget could stretch to 4k next month)
  20. you're so strange...i bet you think this thread is about you
  21. For reliability i do think the older ones were better, yes.i've had 2 hl95's now, first one had carb trouble, sporadic and very annoying, latest one must be similar problem, just dies randomly about twice a week, dealer can't fix it,my village dealer sells echo,i'm tempted to give one a try
  22. I had 2 km85's before i bought 4mix stuff, far better, tougher and reliable in my experience,1st one i had did years of hard work and was still going strong when i renewed it.i don't rate the 4mix stuff personally
  23. i've got a private plate.i had to change my name to FD51 XXM but hey i made it!! To me its penis extension and vanity, sorry
  24. I had 2 bravas (isuzu) a 2wd then a 4wd,both good motors, worked hard.good on diesel and reliable, prone to rear diffs and back axle about 100k,nothing much else IME,getting on a bit now though
  25. I think maybe peter was suggesting some customers are 'foolish' to demand so-called premium hardwoods rather than calling them fools
