  1. quick update on mine.its done 3 months work now (not every day).I had to break off the ally/resin cover on the h/l jets to retune it as it bogged on full throttle (guessing it don't like our fuel) now its run in it swaps between 13" and 15" bars and runs an 8 pin sprocket, its completely bonkers in a word.it has the snap of a husky 550 but bury it and it has the torque of a 560 or more! punches far above its weight for me.please please please start selling them here,no brainer makita
  2. I flogged it on Friday..............with a big stick.as for the Jensen,interceptor or healey?
  3. belts all good
  4. i'll clear them up FOC if you don't get a better offer
  5. thanks monkeyb, you could be onto something there,an oversight of the obvious on my part maybe
  6. IMO the best there is
  7. I checked them on last blade change (Tuesday) will have another look in the morning.thanks
  8. Excuse my naivety if their is an obvious answer to this! I have 3 sets of blades for my 150,one new,one nearly new and one pair quite a bit shorter through sharpening (but still well within witness line).not sure if its coincidence but the chipper blocked up 3 times on Friday,on 3 different types of wood (conifer, euc and robinia).does this happen on more worn blades or may I have another problem? thanks guys

    jonsered 920

no help but I'm in a similar boat, have a 910 which needs an ignition, top handle and av's after a poplar log squashed it in late nineties, maybe stateside is worth a look
  10. ha ha,me too! strangely after about 11am (this week) when it feels a couple of degrees warmer it stops doing it fair weather saw maybe
  11. If you have a gun you could go to TARGETS at riseley
  12. anyone else? had mine a month or two now but only realistically started working it hard this week,8 tanks a day in large ash coppice.starts, runs and cuts like a dream, just has a very slightly annoying flat spot when revved from idle, keep it spinning its fine but just that fraction of a second is bugging me! guess it'll wear in? thanks
  13. !echo a cheaper brand? how dare you? only joking maybe perceived as a cheaper image but I can assure you they have a build quality above anything on the market IMO,i have echo toppers, trimmers and pole saw, great kit,but their top line saws are bang on,i have cs550 and cs610,smooth as a babies bum in the hands, economical, ultra reliable.downside is they're virtually the price of stihl/husky now...but then they should be cos they're as good if not better
  14. Yes,and maybe try a few different species, sizes etc. There's no doubting the speed and ergonomics of the 550&560xp's (I backed the 550 on a 13") but I'm sure pound for pound on equal bar sizes a properly run-in dolmar 5105 will edge the 50cc class, especially when the bar sizes increase
  15. I've tried that on the 66 and tend to agree, suppose it depends on what your cutting,i prefer a 7 tooth on those wooly pop butts that's for sure
  16. I popped the husky 13" on the dolly (wasn't sure it would fit) no figures though as the man on the stopwatch fainted
  17. sorry I was leaning on,i meant using middle of bar and no dawgs
  18. Hi john,i have a 3/8 sprocket and bar in the wings for it so watch this space
  19. I think being all downward cuts I was slower to manoeuvre the cumbersome beast,it handles the 3 ton pops ok
  20. oh,and the 254 forgot to get on the bus
  21. sorry,10 cuts
  22. Well here goes! nice clean poplar log at 200mm (8"),letting the saws do the work and not using dawgs: stihl 066 25" 24.5 seconds stihl ms460 20" 18.8 echo 610 18" 24.3 echo 550 16" 27.8 husky 550xp 13" 26.3 husky 560xp 15" 22.1 husky 242xp 13" 31 dolmar 5105 16" 27.1 Popped the 15" on the husky 550xp as suggested and it managed 28.5 the dolly and echo 550 were literally on second tank out of the box so probably a little tight still not an exact science or test but interesting
  23. would make a level playing field I suppose! I have a couple of 260's but like you say don't even go there!
  24. all standard.7 pin, none pimped.its more about the smaller saws as yes the big ones do a different job.my winner will be what copes fully buried, also its only poplar so not the sternest of tests admittedly
  25. No,shout it loud next one I get will come in a shoddy crisp box from my sister in Idaho, anyone else fancy some monster munch?
