  1. Probably a really easy fix.026's are reliable saws if long in the tooth.clean the air filter, change spark plug, flush the fuel system and try again.if it's running its nothing drastic usually
  2. No it ain't! I popped in Saturday for some boots and trousers,I tripped over generator cables so will clearly sue! Well I would if I hadn't received great service.my young son and daughter left sporting stihl baseball caps backwards, your staff are a credit to you mr jones
  3. I had a 57 plate se from a couple of years old till last april.good car,averaged 35mpg and 40 on a run,good residual value,nice to drive,towed well,i liked it
  4. 1) Anyone running newer shape cabstar? (kinda 07 onwards) just wondered if they ok,had an older one for years and its getting tired but been solid as a rock,i may upgrade soon, probably about a 10 plate at the right money 2) Would the tipper body on my old e95 fit the newer ones? thinking maybe buy a dropside (bit cheaper) and swap bodies, guess it might, maybe a silly idea I dunno THanks guys
  5. Only do day rate for one estate jon,i have a free yard off them for log storage and workshop facilities etc whenever I like, works well for both parties
  6. £370 per day here, thats 2 cutting and 1stacking,8-3.30pm in mostly coppice ash 6-12" stuff, all cut 2m for a botex,10 litres of fuel and about 20 ton(ish) most days, bigger stuff we do on price
  7. Yep thats interesting.showing my ignorance slightly can you advise on shelf life? Best barn stored in the round or doesn't matter? I have room so stockpiling maybe an option
  8. I consider firewooding trees like this for a few reasons.I'm a busy man who likes to get home to his family,i've been paid reasonable money for the job anyway.i have years of experience of going back to work after tea to meet someone with a beard and an ancient landy and wooden trailer that wants to give me 2 shilling for "the bit in the middle",your figures are interesting, make sense and make me think, thanks
  9. I felled an avenue of 40yr old walnuts last month,40 trees,2.5m butts from 15" to 20",the lots gone into firewood, shame really but goes through the splitter great and burns well
  10. Me too,great prices too!
  11. I have a 2014 hse lux and happen to quite like it.3 year warranty, goes like a sports car,30mpg and will tow anything.cavernous inside too
  12. Thanks Steve
  13. Quick question, please don't shoot me mods! Am I allowed to shamelessly plug stuff I've got on the bay on here? I know we have arbtrader so guessing not? Thanks

    660 or 661?

Apologies if been asked before, jonsie is still listing both saws,my 66 has been through the mill and will be replaced shortly.anyone used both? will run 30" mostly.thanks in advance guys
  15. I have a posch cutmaster comfort.cost an arm and a leg second hand but is wonderful, not many around though
  16. McConnell pto bench if you have a tractor sounds ideal, will do billets, rings, lumps, bumps and chunks with good blade and belts
  17. quick update fella's,used again today on completely different terms, smashing up a large cherry tree,13" powermatch bar, buried in 10" limbs,it flew through it,very surprised and it'll be staying on
  18. I don't think your doing anything wrong, our 550's and 560's gobble husky and Oregon pro-lite bars for fun, build quality is poor
  19. that was my immediate thought but it appears to fit perfectly!
  20. well I never, thanks stubby.goes like a train on pop tops by the way chaps
  21. so the large spline drum is just a large spline drum then and not specifically a 3/8 drum then?
  22. Bought a 9 pin to stick on my 550 (.325) to see how it rolled.the sprocket didn't fit the drum (too large centre),however, messing around in the garage last night I discovered it fitted a 3/8 drum off a 560,squeezed it on and worked perfectly today! I cant quote part numbers without stripping it out but has anyone else found similar? strange I thought
  23. yeah we have one, highly rate it.had a 600,610,now a 620.subtle improvement in power through the models.suited more to hardwood I would say, great torque,anti-vib and build quality, economical too.on an 18" bar you can bury it full length and it'll come out smiling
