  1. We are looking for a full time climber to join our team to help with the increasing workload . Minimum requirement will be cs38 with a view to quickly gaining 39 . Work is varied with little domestic work . Some early starts and nights (obviously not expected for nothing ) Might suit utility cutter bored of line work . May also accept subbies Please mail me a cv and apply [email protected]
  2. Thanks guys very helpful 😀👍
  3. As above and was looking to tip 3 or 5 loads of chip . Don't mind paying of course just need pointing in the right direction . Thanks 👌
  4. As above , 6 inch chippers aren't cutting the mustard any more and we've tried the rest and the lads are keen on the 540 , tried the usual avenues so if anyone has one coming up please get in touch .
  5. Or get prices up to a level where you can send lads out, pay them a decent wage and still make enough yourself. Bang on Skuhuck , it takes time in industry but find your niche and build a client base, takes bloody years of hard graft and sacrifice in my experience . Some are handed it on a plate or get lucky .
  6. high sided tipper tree surgeon double alloy barn doors conversion tool boxes | eBay would like to hear any feedback
  7. Will have some hard wood needs moving this week near Duxford . Pm please for details
  8. I went on Friday and had a great day ,for one the food was much better which has been a problem in the past , caught up with some old faces for a chinwag and speak to people face to face you speak on the phone with ,got some goodies I can't wait to try out once I'm fit again . Have to agree perhaps a little more attention from suppliers as I am looking to upgrade both chippers and most didn't seem too interested apart from chatting between themselves . On the whole a well organised interesting show .
  9. Magic maps is fine and up to date , can't be a ssi then
  10. My understanding if it not showing as a ssi it isn't one , if you're really not sure ring the natural England helpline and they wil help you out (numbers on the website )
  11. One of my lads had a van drive through cones at him last week , not one to take it lightly it ended up with him and the van driver ended up getting carted off by the police
  12. Ring these Level 2 Award In Ground Based Chainsaw Operations 002012 (formerly CS30/CS31) | Blake Training
  13. Tip site required in for about 3 loads of clean chip , any help greatfuly received 👌😀
  14. I think the RSPB are missing a chance here . As with the bat conservation trust maybe they should provide some sort of training and quailification for this (maybe they do and please correct me ) We had an ecologist on site watching us work a few weeks ago to keep an eye out for nesting birds and was being charged out at £500 a day and when I asked him what type of qualification relating to birds was his reply was none . Wtf !
  15. I don't think it is just Trust , it is all to do with employing minors , I'm guessing anyone who employs anyone under 18 had better check this out pronto .
  16. I am looking at taking another apprentice this summer . A school leaver who has been very pro active at getting himself a placement which is a great start (mummy and daddy not involved). We are perfectly set up to provide training however trust insurance inform me any persons under 18 will not be covered to use any machinery or climb qualified or not or perform any task apart from drag branches . My concern is life will be very boring for two years for this lad . My question is really do the apprenticeship provider provide cover for this for under 18's?
  17. 35. Way too cheap , indemnity insurance for loler is £300 pounds a year , for me minimum £50 unless it's half a dozen bags or more and I have been known to drop a bit . Also may be more if a bag has crazy amount of kit in it .
  18. This has been going on longer me this for years now . I think the problem in the past has been the little snowflakes not even bothering to turn up for assessments when it is put on a plate . Invest in the future and hope they don't leave unfortunately.
  19. Really good one and not a clue . I shouldn't imagine really they can stop you but really wouldn't want to try it out . I once new a guy who turned up with a team to do a large take down to find a film crew set up in the neighbouring property . Started work and was asked to stop by said film crew . N The chap in question being quite savvy walked away with a very large wad of cash in his pocket and returned another day .
  20. We use a place at Potters bar for that area . Any good ?
  21. I run both a citroen relay 3.0 160 hp cage tipper with a tool box which I love . No drive train noise , high geared and a nice cab , however I got this to be the primary vehicle and it really doesn't carry the weight quite so well (it does have a massive cage though) . It tows fine and for me does the job . I also had to buy a transit as the citroen was supposed to replace our iveco and the twin wheel rear wheel drive does carry the weight much better . If your work is urban and your not loaded to the top the fwd all the way for me (my foreman completely disagrees) Hope this helps .
  22. Hi just putting feelers out there for help for call out work over the christmas period Cornwall/Devon/Somerset/Dorset/Avon won't be night time but let me know if you are interested and expected rates and where you are .
  23. Got room for a crane out the front ?, put them in piles and crane them out ,can be really quick and not as expensive as spending days messing about .
