  4. That has to be one of the slickest best value units about , really like the idea of just the name and let the client do the rest . Forst haven't mentioned colour schemes to me yet and have to say black could well be the one for us should we go down that road .
  5. Having done quite a few highway jobs recently my biggest gripe is the lorry drivers shandy . Even saw one that looked like some one had crapped in a bottle (how even do you do that ). Back to post ,just empty van when fueling up surely .
  6. Well this morning everything for the week scheduled nicely , new employee starting and two lads back from leave , couple of phone calls later and it all change and as usual clients want work done yesterday so planning goes out the window . I do agree with earlier posts to keep a day a week spare .

  10. Thanks guys very helpful 😀👍
  11. As above and was looking to tip 3 or 5 loads of chip . Don't mind paying of course just need pointing in the right direction . Thanks 👌
  12. As above , 6 inch chippers aren't cutting the mustard any more and we've tried the rest and the lads are keen on the 540 , tried the usual avenues so if anyone has one coming up please get in touch .
  13. Or get prices up to a level where you can send lads out, pay them a decent wage and still make enough yourself. Bang on Skuhuck , it takes time in industry but find your niche and build a client base, takes bloody years of hard graft and sacrifice in my experience . Some are handed it on a plate or get lucky .

  17. I went on Friday and had a great day ,for one the food was much better which has been a problem in the past , caught up with some old faces for a chinwag and speak to people face to face you speak on the phone with ,got some goodies I can't wait to try out once I'm fit again . Have to agree perhaps a little more attention from suppliers as I am looking to upgrade both chippers and most didn't seem too interested apart from chatting between themselves . On the whole a well organised interesting show .
  18. Magic maps is fine and up to date , can't be a ssi then
  19. My understanding if it not showing as a ssi it isn't one , if you're really not sure ring the natural England helpline and they wil help you out (numbers on the website )

  23. I think the RSPB are missing a chance here . As with the bat conservation trust maybe they should provide some sort of training and quailification for this (maybe they do and please correct me ) We had an ecologist on site watching us work a few weeks ago to keep an eye out for nesting birds and was being charged out at £500 a day and when I asked him what type of qualification relating to birds was his reply was none . Wtf !
  24. I don't think it is just Trust , it is all to do with employing minors , I'm guessing anyone who employs anyone under 18 had better check this out pronto .
