  2. Hi , a long shot really as most people keep them going , does anyone have a scrap 530 as I'm looking for a hydraulic tank and chipping chamber , I had a repair done on mine a while ago which has failed today so guessing replacement would be a good idea. I would consider a complete machine as spares/repair . TIA
  3. Anyone got a copy or could forward me in the right direction for a copy of working by near or in water rams , thanks as always
  4. We are an established tree work contractor looking for a climber and general operative . Understanding industry compliance and ability to work to set targets a must . Also the ability to work within a team . Some work away is required (decent accommodation and remuneration provided) Experience with tractors and large equipment would be helpful . Full driving licence essential . This position may well be better suited to utility or highways cutters who fancy a change . All the usual quals apply however any holes in training may be filled Paye or part time subbie [email protected]
  5. I do believe they may have a course shortly , also recommend them ,
  6. Completely agree , I'm guessing the statics on anchor point failure are based on DDRT , mainly due to the nature of SRT not being around long and that very point of multiple back up from lower limbs . Do we now have to think tackling a set of stairs is going to be working at height . We are in danger of complicating things as previously stated and I believe also its a method and industry not completely understood .
  7. The point of suitable anchor point installation from the ground perhaps needs to be questioned . How many of the incidents of anchor point failure are from points put in via throw line or big shot . Trusting your life with something you’ve looked at 60ft or more away which may only be Three or four inches across and which you can only see the underside of seems something to be questioned .
  8. We are an established business with year round work looking for another team member due to one of our longstanding member of staff heading off somewhere much warmer than here . Full driving licence and ability to get to our yard essential . Experience with mewps and tractors would be desirable as would an understanding of industry compliance . And as usual all NPTCs Flexibility as we sometimes work away , decent accommodation is provided (no dosshouses or caravans) and overtime potential . Great opportunity for career progression for the right person . email [email protected]

    Loler

I don't think the insurance companies like it and so being I outsource our LOLER . I don't all together agree as I do see lads with issues with kit which rectified immediately and I would happily check kit without fear or favour . After all the LOLER certificate is a legally binding document and you would have to be off your nut to pass something that is not fit for purpose . Personally I have a policy if a climber wants it he gets it , he might have to remind me but having climbed on kit I don't trust or like is just not productive .
  10. We currently have a vacancy for a general tree surgeon and operative , this role involves anything from climbing and mewp operations to driving the ride on mower in the summer months .
