  2. Where is this Mr Stubby ?? I am usually careful leaving the Rose and Crown, thou that bottom step has claimed me on occasion....... ? K
  3. Absolutely correct. Plus now you have posted, indefensible. K
  4. @openspaceman Definately the detail in these jobs sucks the money out, plus economy of scale, that Valtra mulcher roared through brush all day but was to rich fr some clients, 690squid a day 2010, which often people wouldnt pay - but the finish was fab. K
  5. @Bobbies that I can understand , but looking at the blade design with my shed engineers eye, it ain't a good design , sorry. An mates of mine have had three Forst trashed with blade failure. The other stuff of switches, filters n electronics CAN happen with any make , to be fair. K
  6. Did some rides thru rhodi blocked woodland, 600m rides 2 m wide with a Valtra n Berti flail in less than an hour each, two passes. Guy with polesaw after first pass on overhang trees - looked landscaped after we finished, K
  7. Shooting in Tottenham today ..... abt same .. K
  8. Khriss

    Band saw

Knocked out by the thousand for trains to run on - odd you got those as ours are furniture grade finish . K
  9. Hand cutting ? Sod that for a game of soldiers - mechanised flail. K
  10. Thankyou Dempsey, wot the ****************k did these people do in school ? k
  11. @Mick Dempsey but ! This industry runs on 'a load of old blather' ? try to keep up ! K
  12. ( but worried guy is asking for reduction advice for a customer on here - as I normally consider it a skilled arborists job )
  13. @Mick Dempsey you can reduce it to the floor , it may still grow...... K
  14. Reductions are my greatest contention - basically NO ! Then take minimum off for legal issues ( Highways Act etc, screaming neighbours )then if you must, reduce to a good growth point, which for the clueless is NOT a stub you wish to have it grow from, it's a lateral branch that will continue to feed the main branch you cut. Leave top growth where possible, as that continues apical dominance in most species. If it has reached it's ultimate height, it will grow less in reaction to pruning. Thinning of crown ( particularly Hornbeam and Willow ) may give better tree health and result for client. It's species sensitive and seasonal timing is important, 'heavy reductions ' lead to future decay and failure of part of, or whole tree in many cases. K
  15. Now Mr Bill hook, your winter of discontent is made glorious summer by this Son of York ? I very have as it's where I grew up. K
  16. I have that problem too Dempsey, K ( never had computers at our school ..... )
  17. Can't think of any reliability issues with Green disc mech or Bandit or TP or Shliesling , all built to last . Timber wolf's a bit lightweight, tho K
  18. No Shires, i think they are fatally flawed n nothing short of exorcism or pushing off Beachy Head will suffice. K
  19. Ours still in yard. Spoke to a contractor we use last week, he wont touch them after getting rid of his ( overheats) K
  20. I would not go further on advice until I saw the tree in question ( being a certified tree inspector ) K
  21. ......no bears then ? Sod that ? K
  22. Get tree assessed every few years by certified tree inspector, as yr stomping around root plate that leads to soil compaction, so some woodchip around tree, depth of 2 to 3 inch. But it looks great fun ? K
  23. That'll confuse you ? it's very theoretical, but a must have. Should have got my copy signed ? K
  24. Dear God , please No !!! ( wot shower gel ?? ) Yes, as we have enjoyed cheap I phones n cheap chainsaws from that - maybe it's our turn ???? Definately there on the disposable shite argument !
  25. It's just 'manners' at the end of the day. Obvs we haven't much of that here in UK, Visited mum couple weeks ago after 4month absence. Mask on outside. " eeeeeee, I remember cath ( her youngest sister ) fighting to be first fr a gasmask in the War.... now look at us " how hard is this ? K
