  2. Find knowledgeable small tree company and learn everything you can. Yr back and arms wont be up to it at first but persevere and dont work for Glendales. K
  3. Oh, Sheba loved the old bedford van, she could climb in the back as her hips were buggered. Then as i drove off she would force her head out the windon n leave a metre long trail of slaver down side of van as we drove. Hilareous. Think if yr aftr realistic crash protection. Its gonna need thought. 50 kilo dog in 40mph crash weighs same as baby elephant. K

    Jokes???

No. He was more informed ( still like Jeremy inspite of the ire piled on him on here, better than Blaire or Cameron ) k
  5. I am talking about actual science. The science that put us on the moon and split the atom. Vague or opinionated evidence cannot do that. The numbers HAVE to add up. Or failure occurs. What gets talked abt here is opinion or guess work ( which sometimes has to do) but jobs, lives and hospitals are on the line because of it. K

    Jokes???

Lord Haw Haw was a Nazi sympathiser who broadcast propaganda to the UK in WWII , over the wireless . He was tried and condemned for treason I think, but was a distinctive voice and much like Hanoi Rose in the Vietnam war . K
  7. @openspaceman clay all round here on ours, on the Common or by the Rail. They just aint liking this dryness - god knows why people are reducing them in this weather ? K
  8. S. Birch have been struggling the last few hot summers - they need to move bit closer to Arctic circle in next few hundred years. Plus check yr soil. K
  9. The ground crew definately used rope to guide and hangar the aircraft. ( DO NOT touch the rope until it touches the ground! - Electrostatic discharge! ) but not to tie it down. K
  10. @echoechoecho read Henning Boetius book on Hindenburg crash ( The Phoenix) astonishing detail, but does not mention any zeppelin hitch. K
  11. @TIMON , it's the nature of the beast, anyone can be a scientist - but you WILL have yr evidence n theories examined. Just read DR Rowe work on early radar and scientific 'intelligence' at which he proved himself outstandingly good. 'But' some people did not accept it at the time , Churchill would not have a word said against him. K
  12. ( god - just had a Rolf Harris flashback there....... ? )
  13. @echoechoecho that for actually tying Zeppelins Down then ?? Am intregued K
  14. You cannot have a biased scientist , as all work is evidence based, peer reviewed, etc. Any scientist not using correct methods or postulating error will not be a scientist. Or certainly not get far. Error is the key here. You publish a paper and indicate the margins of error. If small and within a limit that proves the result , yr there. It's beyond most of the Public to get this, but then people want answers NOW , which ain't scientific. K
  15. Ratchet strap old sofa in there . Water bowl - Done . K ( My old Alsation just rammed her head out of the window choking me on my seatbelt ! K
  16. Nah...... ? drew a blank
  17. What's on MY bench today ???
  18. I put in a frankly poor weeping cherry last year, looked shit. Mulched, form pruned new growth, weighted down side branches and its a cracking tree this year. Full of blossom. Doubled in size. Dont write it off. K
  19. .... ****************k me, didnt see that coming . K
  20. ( as IF yr 20m down, on pressured air, lung tissue ruptures will have you belching blood into yr Reg before yr buddy gets you surfaced )
  21. I think ( and this includes my scuba diving research cos if my lungs get **************** ed it's finished ) no Drs really understood the chemistry of C19 so forced ventilator therapy was an obvious choice BUT in hindsight not the best one, as divers with only minor symptoms, still showed massive lung damage on pre dive examination. The clotting issue which finishes a lot of people off wasn't realised until later. It's a very serious bug that masks won't stop dead, but will help . K
  22. ..... you just made me think there, Mr Stubby, I wonder if higher levels of predation on the beetle is lowering transmission ? K
  23. Best way is Elm has an asymmetric leaf base, one Side longer than other on stem. K
  24. Also, dependent on that facing wall, sun scorch could also affect it, but I think yr lookin at planting stress in this case, Cherry are quite resilient but don't over water it. K
  25. Bloody hell ? worked with him in Essex some moons ago - wot a loss, an his poor family ? K
