  1. London plane, horrible in the summer as has already been said, horrible and slippy in the wet, smash to smithereens or tangle like a twat when they hit the floor making them a PITA to climb, clean up or chip. Whoever wrote that program needs shooting.
  2. Its my all time favourite of all time favourites atm mate.
  3. I've never had finance on purchasing equipment but I'm fairly sure in some circumstances your better off than buying it outright.
  4. HA, I asked if I could have some (last time I scratched my eye) no chance was the answer They are indeed amazing! Had a few badly scratched eyes and arc eye more than once (you would think once would be enough of a warning!) , both horrible and have no doubt had a negative effect on my eyesight. You can understand why HSE are fairly hot on eye protection.
  5. Speak for yourself there mate! Dont worry, there will be plenty of trees around long after we are gone, no matter what happens to the planet. Well, until it is gobbled up by the Sun. Interesting thread, would be nice to see a few photos if you have them? DED had made its mark long before I was interested in treework.
  6. Well then, are you a non smoker teetotaler?
  7. I guess you have never smoked or drank alcohol then otherwise how much of a hypocrite are you? Sad and unfortunately more too common tales from Timon indeed. Great news for the tight arses who can use plenty of excuses not to give to charity, charity's are ran by billionaires and peadofiles and all street beggars are smack heads. Again it makes me realise how extremely lucky I am. Where the blame lies is difficult to say as it can stretch right back to the Afghanistan poppy farmer.
  8. Have a good one all.
  9. That's like asking, how did Jack manage to beat the giant down the bean stalk. I know where you are coming from but the majority of the public have no clue whatsoever on which questions they should be asking and who they should be employing. It does annoy me too but it is the con mens fault at the end of the day. I've finished quite a few but not for cheap, I'm not getting done over as well!
  10. Ahh right, we are talking about totally different aspects of life. My Mrs is booked up for the next 25 years then. I thought you were taking about professional arb.
  11. A mate in his 40's had the same and found out it was asthma. An inhaler sorted him out within a day. I had a cough that lasted for months a few years ago, obviously had asthma, every type of cancer and COPD at the same time. Dunno what it was a fckn luckily it went on its own accord as I did the idiot manly thing and didnt go to the docs.
  12. I dont think that happens very often tbh.
  13. No,no,no. You cant blame the victim at all. Its like saying "Its your fault your wallet got stolen as you had it hanging out of your pocket" There are a lot of gullible people out there, it isnt their fault some cnt is pulling the wool over their eyes, the cnt should be hanged and the rest of us can carry on.
  14. Surely you arent booked up for 3 years now, 3 months at the very best. Theres no control of any rogue traders no matter what the service, I dont think its limited to or worse in the arb sector, maybe more prevalent as its easier to blag as a pro tree person than a spark etc.
  15. I'm wondering why you started the thread then? Lost plenty of jobs to proper rogue traders, no one can compete on price with those types and if that's all the customer is after (low price) then there is no chance. My opinion, jail like every other thieving scumbag, but since the police dont seem to be able to do anything about thieves there's no chance we can.
  16. I must be a lucky fcker as I'm not dead yet and I don't own a ratchet strap.
  17. Yes it is. Otherwise how on earth do you price jobs?
  18. If you run a business time is the biggest factor hands down, shirly?
  19. Totally agree. If I was asked to cut up the timber into firewood and shovel the chip off the van into bags I would be charging more than to remove it that's for sure. Of the customer agreed to the price and the job was carried out as spec then the words ripped off shouldn't be mentioned at all. Not paying in full and offering to only pay a third of the cost, now that is ripping someone off!
  20. Well, if the OP is going to use an 80's pop singer instead of a bona fide tree "surgeon" then so be it. Madness! Reading this thread, B'Jesus, there are a lot of people running business without a clue whatsoever, I think a few of you lads should register as a charity.
  21. I also like this Christmas song Dont tell anyone though.
  22. Fairy tale in New York along with Also love this song, mainly as it features in Gremlins, the best Christmas movie ever
  23. Not headline news at all but liking Micky Flanagan "Thinking aloud" offence on sky one atm. Basically taking the piss out of todays lack of backbone ponces and poncesses.
  24. That goes without saying for all media outlets these days. Is outlet the right word? Anyway, as as long as we all own a token black man we cant be seen as bad.
  25. X Factor. Hate the program but the Mrs loves it. The final consists of a scouser, a black man and a fat girl. PC voting at it's best
