Use the phone a lot to browse but always prefer the pc for responding, emails, quotes, anything that requires typing really. Would be interesting to see how the age groups differ in this subject.

They don't need the deposit to get some skips do they? Tell them to get another firm to do the job and move on. Like many others have had quite a few oldies try to pay up front but never take any money until the work is completed. That way you can blag them into paying more as the job was bigger than expected

Iirc lack of oil changing causes the problem down to low oil pressure from old oil resulting in in the hydraulic chain tensioner not doing its job properly.

As above, be careful contacting network rail, get the homeowner to do it. They might insist one of their guys stands guard iirc it's the best part of £700 a day which they usually make a business pay for but not usually a homeowner. Sad to hear she was ripped off in the classic way these thieves operate.

Oh dear God. Do you think that someone in Afghanistan really thinks that you are better/superior to them? Do you think any of us think you are more superior than an Afghanistan? Just in case you are wondering the answer WILL be no. Yes there will be some nasty naughty bad men in Afghanistan but then again there are lots of nasty naughty English men here in England who would torture your grandad for his weekly pension. It's all about relativity. And yes, it is wrong to be a racist, surely that doesn't need an explanation?!

While just now watching have I got news for you their "Are you more cheerful than a chimp" round stated that in the last 20 years the proportion of the world living in poverty has almost halved. So I guess you may be bang on there. I think every generation from the days of Socrates has blamed the younger generation for being idle, none respecting wasters. Its just a trait of getting old I guess. I think myself very lucky to live in the times I do, there is no way I would want to live in any time slot in the past. Although the USA/Russia might soon put a stop to that.

Stupid thing for them to say. Are they saying it is OK to walk up to a child and shout obscenities at them as that is what free speech is in their eyes? I dont believe in free speech, there are a lot of stupid people out there, we dont need to know what they think. There are some proper wankers who shout down a megaphone in the city centre about how we should follow God, they shouldnt be allowed to do that, why should I have to listen to that crap? Should I be allowed to walk down the street swearing, shouting racist and sexist things, saying what I like to who I like be it adult or child? I think the simple answer is no. You cant have true free speech.

I would like to know what it would look like? My guess is Anglesey. Flat with a splattering of hawthorn and fields full of grass and heather. No trees mind. In a few hundred years I bet there will be a couple of birch trees though
