  1. I await the responses to that post!
  2. Ah, didnt see your post saying you got it working, what was the issue causing it to lock up?
  3. Are you sure you haven't knackered it when you put the flywheel on? Surely they will have ran the saw up to test it.
  4. Thats nothing. Imagine one of these looking your way
  5. Medlar, also known as the dogs arse. Now what you do with your tongue is your own business thank you very much.
  6. Those Boston dynamics robots are cool but a bit freaky too. When I see those clips of the guy poking it with a stick I bet we are all thinking the same thing, yeah one day mate it's gonna turn around and get ya. The animal robots look all wrong, the way they move is just plain scary!
  7. TBH, never really used a handsaw apart from my early days. It is either chainsaw or kick it off for the vast majority of jobs, The odd time we use a handsaw/polesaw it is a very nice alternative.
  8. I disagree, its an upgrade from the Tupperware box I would normally use for my miniature horses. Cardboard, better for the environment you know, although horses always prefer plastic if the truth be known.
  9. If your horses are that small surely you can just keep them in a shoe box?
  10. Well, you cant change anything by not complaining on the internet....
  11. Not the biggest fan eh. Fair enough but what can be done though? Nothingcan be done about cost, I doubt anyone wants to work for nothing, I didn't think the test was actually that expensive? I think they at least prove someone has gotten off their arse to and at least tried. The employer thing, well they will always be about no matter what so all the blame is on them and the employee. More training, more enforcement(if possible) and therefore more consequences due to lack of staff training would cost a massive amount of money which I doubt none of us would want to pay for. I suppose you could scrap the entire thing but that could never happen.
  12. Why do people always knock NPTC certs? Its just the same as every other test, you pass on the day and you get your bit of paper. NO different than a lot of other practical examinations, driving test for one, lots of unsafe drivers out there and its way more important than a chainsaw cert. Imagine the outcry if we adopted the IRATA way of things.
  13. Thats what goes on most of the time ime. People whinge and moan but do fck all to sort it out, both employee, employer and in the modern day world, your internet badass. It used to be a sackable offence to talk about pay, I still think it should be but unfortunately the equal rights brigade thought its best if we all argue between ourselves, unless you are bragging then you can be warned.
  14. They are handy for keeping the carpet clean though. Maybe they didnt like the noise? Very interesting read but I have been stung by wasps many a time in the past and it bloody hurts plus I have a bad reaction to their stings and swell up a lot. Sorry, but death to the wasp that interfere's with me or my own.
  15. Im just grateful I came from a working family (although I hate having to work for a living and would rather be floating on a yacht in the Med) and therefore have no problem doing my bit. Luckily I didnt have to eat Michelin shaped badgers like Matty but I did have to earn my keep. I would hate to be unemployed, it must be a downward depressing circle. I just hate the scamming fckers who never do a tap, never will and rob those who do need a hand out now and then, never mind us.
  16. Well, now you can start a business and still claim your giro (or whatever its called) for 12 months, they will do a review and IF you are making enough money they then stop said giro. Quite a win win scenario there me thinks. On the one hand, yes great, it might take some people of the dole who couldnt afford to setup/start a new business which could then lead onto further employment etc. On the other hand, you know there will be more scamming going on than actually enterprising and we will have to pay for it all.
  17. Probably more out of spite than actually wanting the money and who can blame him, doesn't mean it's right though. The lad needs to speak to the citizens advice Bureau or better still a solicitor who specialises in employment law. Only experience I have is when I did speak to a solicitor about employment contracts. He said loads of people make up these bs contracts, get the employee to sign them and think they can stand up in court, most of the time there is no chance.
  18. Sorry to hear about your theft. It is worth noting if you had used arbsafe you would have a database of all of your serial numbers, worth doing it in the future. Anything that can help put these scum away is worth it in my book, I hate the fckers, they can easily ruin a good man's lifetime of work.
  19. You probably need to read your post over again. I.e, it makes no sense whatsoever.
  20. What a silly thing to say.
  21. How about I stand on a hose pipe while you look into the end of it to see what the problem is? Of course you can crush a pipe that has water in it!? I should know, I'm an expert on plumbertalk.com.
  22. It will be interesting to see the outcome. We allways see posts that your insurance comment won't pay out if you don't have x, y and z. We allways see posts saying that insurance does pay out from members talking from experience. I don't think I have ever read a post saying that their insurance company has refused to pay out due to not having the correct certs etc. Has anyone ever had first hand experience of an insurance company not paying out due to lack of certs or paying out but recovering the costs?
  23. Dont assume anything Just quote what you are going to do end of. If they dont agree with that then requote on what they want and go from there. Dont let neighbours sort it out between themselves, you will be the one to loose out trying to play happy families. If it becomes a neighbourly argument then move on and dont look back.
  24. As a thought in regards to what is traditional labour. How do the you all class yourself? Myself, working class although by definition I am middle class.(I guess most of us would be classed as middle class by definition)
