Btw, do you not realise how that is totally irrelevant that is? If I asked my neighbour would he be OK to dangle 60 feet up in a tree and take 5 mins to reflect on things, have a smoke break, plan his next move, or just to do fck all for a bit and he said anyone who does that is a bloody fool, would his opinion even matter? Of course it wouldnt and I would be a bit of a prick to think that it did.

Well no, im not being argumentative im being realistic. Ive worked under cars on and off for over 30 years. Yes I wouldnt work on one unless it was stable but once it is I can do whatever I like, although I wouldnt pray, thats for sure. Have you ever worked under a car? Have you ever sat there working out what to do next as the ball joint just will not budge or trying to line up a clutch because the gearbox shaft just wont go in?

Looks like you went well off on a tangent there. So, do you remove the oil plug then run off in case the car falls on you, or do you remove the oil plug, and then stand under the car while you remove the oil filter, do some other stuff etc etc. If you cant sit under a vehicle for 5 mins doing feck all for fear that it might fall on you then you shouldn't be working on the vehicle in the first place. Its not rocket science.

He is a mechanic, he probably spends 8 hours a day underneath a car on a set of ramps. By your logic he should be on his toes all of that time checking that the car isn't going to fall on him and crush him to death. "But he wasn’t nor would anyone with half a brain do any of what you suggest under the car. " Have you ever seen the inside of a garage workshop? What do you think they do, run backwards and forwards underneath a car hoping not to get killed. Or work under the thing, smacking it with a lump hammer while on the phone and tying their shoe laces. Ill leave you to it, your mind works in mysterious ways

Not paying attention to what? The car doesn't become unstable and dangerous because no one is looking at it. Honestly I don't know what the issue is here. He could have been kneeling down unpacking a clutch and getting it ready to fit to the car for 5 mins. Or sitting there while the oil drained out of the engine or......... I'm fairly sure that mechanics don't have to constantly keep an eye on the car above them in case it just falls off the ramp. The praying bit is irrelevant.

He is a mechanic in a garage. If he wasn't praying then he probably would have been doing something else under that car and still would have been crushed. The fault lies in the lifting equipment or the incorrect use of it. Unless it was foul play like.

THE. CAR. NOT. FALLING. ON. HIM. Everyone else can understand that is the reason why he was injured. It doesn't matter if he was praying to jesus christ , having tea with his mother or standing under that car for 4 hours while swapping out a gearbox. The car falling on him caused the injuries and the reason why it fell is probably the reason why the firm was fined. Why do you think one single thing is the answer?

You are just focusing on one thing and one thing only. There are probably multiple reasons that would have prevented him from getting injured but youre just focusing on the fact that he was praying is why he was injured. Am I wrong?
