  2. What is his perceived problem>?
  3. If your insurers are really dragging their heels you should warn them that failure to recompense your business for loss of eqpt will result in further charges for loss of earnings.....Insurance companies across the spectrum are fast getting a bad reputation IMO.
  4. Still looks good!!!!!
  5. Yeah. Then the zips fall aprt and then the ply support gets done in and you are back to square one only wishing they tried to SELL you a decent one in the first place cept you were too broke to afford it....!!!
  6. Preston
  7. Figure this does little to galvanise credible evidence as to pathogen progress an "real " time as it affects beech...shame although I understand why it may have happened!!>?
  8. Looks good .....
  9. looks like leather bracket....I would have to look up the latin name but then so could you eh !!
  10. Its interesting to speculate as to the real condition of the root system .....Lonsdale contests that by the time you see fruiting bodies there is in all liklihood little or no root left.....IMO this would not seem to be borne out by the longevity of so many affected specimens??
  11. It would be acceptable to supply a written statement with the rope if you have indeed supplied a certified splice...I cant see the problem myself....
  12. Try finding an inspector who has the gonads to stand by his quals.....LOLER inspectors should understand the " anatomy " of splicing if they are to inspect AND deliver fair assessments of this part of a climbers eqpt...IMO.
  13. Manufacturer states lifespan of 6 months for this rope...how comes its so cheap....Dont waste your money as it wears real quick and there are so many better products to choose from IMO!
  14. Maybe easy for us to say but...report it mate, no doubts!!
  15. I'd like to know how they justify this ...!!
  16. I wouldnt say that the lower 2nd point of attachment is what sets the saddle apart by any means...I have 2 bridges on my butterfly and find that this is also very adaptable for work position as the lanyard can be terminated in a position other than the side D's...I think that I am fed up with the rope and knot set up I have tho and want a change..a cinch maybe.....I am not convinced by the swivel positioner.....got a mind of its own an' that'll never do!!
  17. Very amusing...lol !!
  18. The lower rings you discuss make for a more comfortable work position IMO, however, I fear you may find wear on the webbing is increased in this set up. Time will tell hopefully and it is just a theory.
  19. Good post mate!!
  20. Yes sir...I can only creep round the tree now....!! ( ftr..I use a ropeguide also@@ )
  21. Yeah...a great rope indeed... I just bought Edelrid XP and run it thru the lockjack...the two are apparently recommended as suitable with each other....oopppsss....burnt the rope already. NEVER had this with the Blaze..used to destruction with the lockjack and pleased to say it was durable and versatile. (Once you get used to the small guage grip in the hand) Milks a bit but never distressed me too much!
  22. Cool....!
  23. Re freshers are not aimed at teaching anything new...money for old rope fellas!!
  24. Well well guys...the course has actually been cancelled for lack of attendees....
  25. I've said this DrewB...maybe a perfectionist who cant leave a good thing alone....sows the seed of doubt. I'm sure they both fine products b4 ya'll start OK. Yeah, use a ratchet and so on mate...you got it!!
