    Hey Raymond..like your avatar..thats a photoshop gimmick right!!??<<><><>><<>!
  2. Apologies to any of you looking up the article in Treeline...you wont find it there but in Tree News ( Issue 14 )
  3. Interesting one this in some ways...the company that rents out the cameras do not mention in the promotional write up that it has/ can be used in relation to tree work and decay detection...Interestlingly also, the manufacturers seem not to mention this application when I last checked (March ish this year.....). Perhaps this is an oversight and nothing more. It was reviewed earlier this year in "Treeline " if memory serves. I have heard that thet are not very accurate...but with no personal experience....
  4. Nothing!!<><><>><<?
  5. Ypu need to drink cold liquids..little and often as this will lower core body temp....
  6. Agree...and just to show U how to suck eggs mate...look up The Hitch Climbers Guide to the Canopy...to be found on the Treemagineers website for correct set up configurations.....!<<><><<>??
  7. Do they mate....? I understood thay there were issues with the 8mm splice...they were not happy wiyh the strength apparently....so we are left with the 10mm if you want eye to eye...personally...like I said, prefer the smaller cord.......it holds it shape and therefore grips more easily or readily perhaps...thers nowt more worrying than constantly having to dress your knot before bomb to the ground IMO ?<<><><?
  8. The clue here is in Rebeccas post I think.... http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=2382
  9. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=2166 This is on a beech...the same thing anybody..Phellinus igniarius?
  10. As I say, the above publication is real user friendly in this regard IMO...
  11. Too bad you destroyed it....it could be anything frankly....>><><>
  12. To give it the full title....Fungal stategies of wood decay in trees..... Engels, Mattheck, Schwarze..
  13. That is such vague question as to be unaswerable mate...you might find " Fungal decay stategies in wood" a useful publication by messrs mattheck & co.
  14. hI cLeetus and welcome to arbtalk!!!
  15. So then you have missed the point as all are of equal value...to themselves and most importantly as a group....As capitalists we seem to value rarity...gold, diamonds, common sense and a willingness to work hard.....I am not criticising...maybe I am...its my nature!!
  16. If you only ever concerntraye on what you can do, you will never step out of comfort zone to learn new things or challenge long held beliefs...sorry but this is nonsense!!
  17. Point taken my friend.....
  18. You said it!!! Seriously thuogh, I have known employers to keep a very tight reeign on newbie staff and whilst the isues can be complex, it does not create ba very fertile environment for the up and coming@!@!!
  19. Its not obligatory!!
  20. Happy in a dead end job>>??,,,hhmmmm...God bless!!
  21. All things considered..I thought that was pretty good and kinda brave of you to post it ...Theres a lesson in there about how to spread the energy involved in complex rigigng' blah blah,,,nice one RCO.
  22. Its a fallasy to assume that cutting back the crown will in some magical way be mimicked below ground by the root system...but then you knew that!!!
  23. Option 3 I think you are seeing this clearly Alex. Under one unbrella w have the industry ( ignore manus for the moment) Arb Industry (climbers & loler inspectors) needs..... Certification ( ie competence ) Accountability, ( certification? ) One qual covering splicing used in the work place...period ( this would necessitate an update to the loler inspectors quals...no big deal !! )
  24. I would never work for such a high handed boss...what could you learn when you are such a control freak!!!!
  25. He needs to be guided by the educated arbosist to a place where magic begins to make sense...If there are no roots to be found from the digging and trench excavations close to the building foundations its a fair bet God would need to be somewhat dislpleased and so moved to perform a miracle; the culmination of which would be roots undrmining the fabric of the building by some miraculous powers....a bit like LOLER inspectord have....! Patience is a virtue brother!!!
