  2. Dont do it. Not worth the hassle. I got lucky doing utillity work. Otherwise i'd be looking for a new job.
  3. Hi chris, does that mean any work at all on a tree then? i.e deadwooding, thinning, etc. What are the signs of bats living in a tree too, just out of intrest really, never really had much thoughts on bats. Hope you dont mind me asking Ben, not taking over your thread.

people climb in them now, not in this industry but rock climbers do, think its just HSE. I have had the screw come undone on them but that could of been me not tightening it properly. Ive mixed opinions on them really.
  5. I hate dog crap, gets everywhere. Nice one refusing to do it, that does take the pi!! with all over the area your meant to working in.

I use them on mine, but can see the problem if you dont tighten them properly, vibration can undo them too. Imagine that 660 dropping to ground. wouldnt like to be the person it hits. (worst case senario)
  7. Nice pics Rupe, good job on the rigging too. think you could of gotta away with few more ropes up there though.

  9. I'll ask him about it when i see him. I dont really use footlocking really, only used it handful of times.
  10. Thats a good idea, i'll give that a go.
  11. I found i hard on srt and on a double rope found easyier as theres more rope to jam between your feet. Think it just practice and taking you time.
  12. Footlocking is definitly a fine art when done properly and smoothly. Thanks for posting.
  13. Love to see it in action mate, looks alot of fun!? Dont like looking at photos of nice toys gives me the urge to go out and do it myself. My wife would soooooo kill me though.
  14. Very Very cool. Im jelous. Do you do much greenlaning or is it just for work. Nice job.
  15. out of interest i search other tree surgery companys on google, just to check them out really, but there are companys out there who do say basicaly not to take an interest in companys that fly post which doesnt help the genuine company whos just trying to survive or get started, but good quality flyers DO work.
  16. There are red chainsaw boots. Might get me a pair.
  17. I got my flyers done through vista print, and my business cards. its cost around 60-65 quid for around 300 or so, but there very good quality, that what WILL set you apart from the rest. It worked for me, until i moved and now im doing it all over again, and im geting phone calls now and i've only posted around 150 off them in a local village, and im getting phone calls from all over. Hope it works out for you.
  18. High quality flyers stand out mate, but people think your desparate and will steer clear, and not sure why, but people do think of pikeys, maybe do both. flyers and your vehicle, that way people see your van and flyers.
  19. If times are desprate for you, mighth be worth a try, but get them done by a pro, like vista print. Quality always pays and it will make you stand out from pikeys. But flyers arent the best way of doing it, try sign writting on vehicles, or word of mouth, or local paper. I was struggling with work, and tryed flyers but didnt going knocking on doors, went to shops and had them advertised for free in there, and also local pub. Hope it works out for you mate, i've got lucky and got offered a job doing line work now, but keeping my work in the background, just takes time. Good luck mate.
  20. I want some too, keep enough in stock jonsie, you'll be hearing from me in couple of weeks.
  21. Was thinking of disco too. Get some good deals on them at mo too. Freelander hasnt got the ground clearence really. Mpg is important since i live in the sticks and i'll be doing alot of milege in the coming months with my new work, and keeping my other work running in the background. So that rules out ford ranger then.
  22. All make mistakes, dont beat yourself up over it. I did it on a Laylandii hedge. I steer clear of those jobs now.
  23. Damn. does it still work, cant make out whether he's gone through spark plug or not.? Like the pic of the team.
