  1. Are u saing they are bringing out another (a fourth?) tophandeled saw? Youre not talking about the T435? Im intrigued...
  2. Its louder, less power/weight ratio and has higher vibrations.... Could still be a better saw compared to the previous ones... Prefere Stihl MS200, especially the chainbrake thats sturdier and doesent get caught on branches.
  3. I'm currently co developing a Tree-survey application for the androidplatform with googlemaps as gis-maps. The company is looking into the possibility to do parts of the surveys from google streetmaps so your app could come handy...

  5. Yeah I know Doug, used to work in the same company... Give him a call, he is a sound bloke with the right attitude. Very serious and run a small but efficent outfit as far as I know. Last winter we had -27C, quite cold, but thats what seperates men from boys! (or women from girls:blushing:) Just get proper wollen underwear and get stuck in, youll be allright! If you have the rigt attitude, experience, tickets and workethics you'd probably be asked to come over for a trial. Good luck!
  6. Just beutiful pics.... http://treeporn.tumblr.com/:001_smile:

    iphone apps

I found my "sunseeker" app to be very usefull again today After having a lengthy diskussion vith a fellow citizen (not a "customer as I work for LA) and trying to explain why we wouldnt fell a massive poplar cause he claimed it was blocking all his light (as we were discussing he was standing on his balcony in full sunlight. After I got bored with him and him not interested in biodiversity, climate, shade, summertemperatures and so on I picked up my Iphone and used the sunseeker app and could rip his statements about what times and dates the sun was blocked out by the tree. The app gives u elevation and direction where the sun is at a certain date or you can use the 3D mode which will use the camera and by looking at the screen through the camera it will tell you when and where and what time the sun is during the day and year... Long post....bur point is I proved him wrong and could prove that he was getting more than 6 hours of full sun and therefore was well within our policy for not taking down trees due to sunlight!
  17. Still a newbie when it comes to this stuff...spore colour? How do you tell? or am I missing something obvious? You are saying white?!? So shall I settle for Rigi? Or do I need more pics and info? Thanks guys!
  18. Thanks Bundle, Yes its Sweden and no I dont know any history. It's on a rowan and I was sent this only (and rather poorly) photo... My first thought was Phellinus, but the person that sent me the pic is familiar with Phellinus as she has id several before. Hence my hesitation... Rigidiporous is one hint I got from Monkey-D but he was, as you, not convinced. All ask if there is any more pics. I 'm guessing the tree is close to a road and probably part of an Avenue of trees.
  19. According to Pfanner website 1,8 million Euro went into the development and from idea to ready product took 12 years... 5 patent and stuff. And if u order NOW youll get a matching backpack! (At Euro 165:-) PFANNER Extrem Gut - Schutzbekleidung GmbH; Hohenems - Austria
  20. Why? Wedge and a hammer...bigger log and much faster. Agree!
