  3. Well..... It's derailing a really educational thread. This is really what this forum is about and not just another social forum. Maybe everyone that follow this thread didnt enjoy this thread to derailed?
  4. Septentrionalis eg. Climacodon septentrionalis Septentrional is a word that means "of the north" reffering to the seven stars... Borealis is also a referense to the north.
  5. Gobsmacked........again! True talent.
  6. You are more then welcome! Ive seen them every year the last 4 years. Id love to come over for a foray next year...cant make it this year. Will try to find some other stuff aswell. Keep my eyes open for Schizophyllum commune that I spotted last year and Hericium coralloides...
  7. In my experience they tend to appear in tight branch unions and therefore often lead to "branchfailure", but most common around here is on double stemmed trees with included (?)bark. The result of that would be trunk/mainbranch failure.
  8. You guys should come over! They are plentiful here!!! Saw six Oxyporus today...
  9.:lol: My girfriend thinks Im mad as Im laughing my head ofF!!!
  10. My collegues will take a fit! They think Im mad already! Complaining when they dont make proper cuts on young trees and miself making rips and tears on veteran trees!!!!
  11. Yihaa! I wil bring this up with the County Directory Board next week when Im doing a coure on Managing veteran Trees. Had a meeting with them today doing TPO inspections and showing them my monoliths and retrenchments:thumbup: They liked it all!!! You reckon I should mention my idea of inoculating other stuff aswell?!?

  13. We seem to have a rather big population of these little buggers...red listed too:001_smile:
  14. Got mine welded from scrap with an old sledgehammerhead at the top of a metalcylinder with a vinyl insert to muffle the noice. Cost me a tenner:thumbup:
  15. Thats the technique the japanese have been using since the Edo-period, it works for them.... but hey ho just make ugly marks allover the stem its highly proffessional!!!
  16. Google? Put the name into the browser with ".se" at the end, should bring up most of them or google name + arborist. There is another big company aswell that seems to be hiring all the time but I cant recomend them as I have a "beef" with them... They came around my town doing railway clearance and made a right mess of one of our cityentrance pocketparks, trashing lawns with a forwarder, stacking brash and logs on a meadow (some is still there) topping perfectly sound willows "for safety" (they are sprouting like mad! AND will pose a risk in the future!!!) leaving stumps for us to grind out and felled a 60 year old birch, that i had pruned and inspected 2 months previously, cause it was dangerous!!!!!!?!?:cursing: Apologies.....but this just make me furious!!! And I'm pretty sure one of the climbers are a member, at least thats what his collegue said....(Not his fault, I know...Just doing what he's beeing told:blushing::
