  4. We are having an open Parkday tomorrow in the Main park in our town, lots of people will be about. I decided to do a VTA inspection on all the trees, just a quick one to see wether changes on condition had occured during my holidays. We had a thrombus go through our county couple of weeks ago... 8.50 my boss came and I told him that one tree would need some work just to make sure its safe. We agreed on me doing the tree on monday, a proper climb inspection and a weight reduction for safety... 10.45 I got a call from some collegues that had heard a sudden crack and then a big limb fell down from the tree and the tip of the branch hit the feet of an elderly man! Still dont know the cause as I only made sure the hung up branch is stabile and secured the area. Will deal with the tree tomorrow as a part of the open day, Demonstration on crown reduction!

  12. A big Logosol I think... With a 066 or somefing... He custombuilt his kitchen with oak from customers gardens. There is no tradition of building stuff from oak as all oak belonged to the crown up to 1930ies due to old laws... for shipbuilding. Newer heard anyone use green oak for building in sweden. Any info about how to go about this? With the right setup, a yard to dry it and a few ads it should sell. I tried to flog some fresh timber for boat builders and carpenters, no one was interested as they rather bought oak from abroad that was dry..?!? (I even offered them freelogs?
  13. Good on ya! Sort of a try before you buy offer.... After all no one wants to buy bulk before they know what it is. The power of Arbtalk!!!
  14. A former collegue had (or still does?) a mobile mill he used to do quite à bit. Josh, ask your boss about Olle, he might be intrested.
  15. A collegue of mine had a drum blow up in his face! He survived with small margins... Refurbished face and with one good eye his back in buisness after just over a year of surgery and intensive care. He knew and still knows that a drum should always be filled with water before cutting, he just forgot....as he was angry and upset after an argument with his son....
  16. Thanks! Theres even a station in My town!?! I have to lock into that... Sorry the PPE was aimed to my fellow arbtalkers...when I use my saws Im always geared up for my own protection from the cutting end on the saw, to me its equally important whats coming out the other side.... Emissions that I inhale! I consider alkylate to be a part of my PPE! (personal protective equipment) I guess we are lucky here as we havs several brands, but in my experience Aspen is the better one! Torque, RPM etc...
  17. WHO in Sweden is selling petrol like this? I have been using Aspen for 8 years and not yet come across this. Are you guys only using PPE because its à legal requirement or is it for safety reasons?
  18. Sorry! I dont want to derail, but can you elaborate or give me more info about this?
  19. I'd say the side D:s are for support and as Mr Bullman said its quite allright to use them as secondary attachment but if you were to fall they or the harness is not designed to take an arrest. So really it depends on the harnes you are using... On Tree Austria 2 for instanse there is a set of side D:s that sits lower on the harness and can take a full arrest, there are others with similar design.
  20. Now that would put a definate end to the discussion about Mr Blair's Gloria verses tracked chippers... A walking (crawling!?!) easy acess chipper with very little emission and noice (?) that would put a smile on your customers face and be the perfect sales pitch... Welcome to the forum!
  21. I checked with our Landscapearchitect today; She had never heard of Leylandihedges!
  22. Cheers for correcting me:blushing: Youre quite right, I got it slightly wrong...
  23. Global position system - location of a spot.... Global information system (?) - shows that spot and other info presented onto à map, often a database based system that is able to present info derived from a search.9
