  1. Possibly Ceiba speciosa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  2. I reckon he saw a saay woman walking past who gave him the nod, and he just let go of his joystick
  3. One big difference, I went for the ride of my life when mine failed, a 45ft free fall adrenalin rush. I really cant see why the tree wasn't felled, processed and power barrowed out . Cranes are the future though
  4. Just dont make it too alike as RC is a member of this forum
  5. Make sure it's a twin blade mower dave, otherwise as soon as it touches the hedge you'll get very dizzy
  6. I would have been proud of that idea, the only thing is I'd have rigged it so it didn't need a driver
  7. I wouldn't know, I've moved on from the good old days and bought a very efficient stove, where most of the heat comes into the house
  8. I first went into tree surgery twenty years ago for about 3 years, I did mostly hedge clearance and reductions but I still recoil at the memories I have of me hanging off ladders tying branches to on bits of rope over a main road with no ppe, harness or anything, rips, tears you name it
  9. Last one I did with the landy I had to leave a 25ft pole and put in a 5:1 system, it did the job but only just and that was one hell of a stump for my poor wee landy
  10. That is what you call thinking outside the box, that man deserves a medal
  11. Just set the small scaffold rails up over the log, no need to bolt it to it as long as the log is chocked properly
  12. Will only dry properly under cover and once dry must be kept under cover but burns extremely well, good stuff, I burn it loads
  13. Did you plant under the wires tom
  14. Weblift, Jet wire, and many other alias's I have that winch under a different name and have had no problems with it at all, and I've given it some stick, it cost about £140. I think the RRP or suggested selling price of £412 which some retailers are quoting is a little misleading. If you want the winch under a different branding punch tirfor into ebay search and you'll see the same winches for sale cheap
  15. Sell to a developer and let them have the hassle, then buy a plot out of a conservation area
  16. There is a dedicated "Picture Forum", just go into the main menu
  17. Just started bouncing it down here, and it's going in skyhucks direction, the rain should be with you in about 20 minutes dave:biggrin:
  18. or life threatening injuries, where he could die
  19. If you employ someone you need it, it's the definition of "employ" you may find confusing
  20. I came out of a MEWP with another bloke who was seriously injured. They wanted nothing to do with it, I even rung them to try and get them to get involved they didn't want to know because no one was killed
  21. am I right in thinking they cant take the house if you have dependants
  22. I learnt very quickly Dave, so 99% of the time it's on a price. Martyn, the worst thing ever is the customer expecting too much, the last one I did I told them we are humans not machines, he kept coming out and saying when you've done that , do this, then that then this. He tried getting us to fit about three days work into a day. I just stood there laughing
  23. Thats the exact reason if the customer insists on a day rate I make sure they know I base it on a 6 hour day and the clock stops for tea breaks and lunch
  24. Tom, I went out and bought a recon, you waste so much time hunting a decent engine down then when fitted it might not be right and could cost you a fortune in time. Might cost a little more but will be money well invested
