  1. Just a reminder all Sugihara offers of free chain will be finished 9am tom Monday so get your order in before then... Rob
  2. That and I think just the way they have produced the same bars in the same factory with the same people over a couple of generations. Usually a rep would come out and see their customers - but it was Tomo (owner) and his son that made the trip... and they are proud of what they make and are always looking to improve what they do.
  3. Alright Ian - have a look here and hopefully this helps explain a bit... About Sugihara | Sugihara Guide Bars Actually just noriced a typo...
  4. Cheers Geoff - got the Echo sugi bars on there as well
  5. Thanks for the order Ian
  6. Ha ha - maybe soon will get a nice looking respectable young lady there Jon - I don't think I'll make any shows this year - but will do the APF I expect next year.
  7. www.sugiharabars.com Similar to the Death Star in Return of the Jedi the new Sugihara bars website is now operational but not quite finished... Chains, sprockets and spares areas are not ready yet... but the bars are all on there and each bar you see is the actual bar (rather than just one picture that has been copied). But I'm hoping it will be easier for you to pick the bar you are after. There are a lot of options there for some of the saw classes depending on what chain etc you want to run. Chainsawbars is good for all the standard stuff but once you want to look at running different options it is limited. We have broken all the saws down into different groups that share bar mounts. These are then cross referenced across the different manufacturers ie. Group 3 Stihl, Husky, Echo, Dolmar will all tend to run .325 chain as standard etc... See what you think - this weekend only (ends 9am Monday) - every bar ordered will be delivered with a free chain as an intro offer. E-mail ([email protected]) after ordering if you have a chain preference otherwise we will pick one for you. Any feedback/questions please leave on this thread.
  8. I don't have the part numbers here but am pretty sure they are different. I have put the CS280-WES 1/4" sprocket up in the special offers section if you need one.
  9. Great - thanks for the feedback - very much appreciated especially on new design bars

    Sugihara bars

Thanks all - the T540XP bars are proving by far the most popular and some will sell out I think before I get the next lot ordered
  11. Hmmm - there is a pretty strict policy of no name and shame on here - and Forest and Arb are one of arbtalks sponsers. You can mention that you have been let down by a 'supplier' Did you try and contact them on here first? And give them a chance to put this right?
  12. That 1/4" picco chain is amazing - gives a very clean smooth cut indeed - that chain alone has allowed caring bar noses to be smaller by 4mm than the previous dime tip. I'd say Stihl did well with this saw and this chain. Although the chain is a bit fiddly to sharpen....
  13. Actually just looking at this for Oregon 73LPX we are £19.26 a loop if you bought x2 inc vat and postage - for the more expensive chains it would be £25... Just had a look at chains direct and for same chain would be £15.50 a loop. So yes it is more but not a million miles away. I have been thinking about reducing the prices on the custom chain selector for a while as it is a lot less work and maintenace than the selectors... so food for thought!
  14. I know - we are not the cheapest - but what to do? We stock x3 rolls of every chain that we sell at all times... We have the largest range of chain ready to buy in Europe with chain types you will find no where else... It is easy to buy both Custom loops as well as use the selectors... We spent 25k on Stihl chain to see us through the Stihl online selling ban... But there is a price to pay for the above and I'm afraid we will never be the cheapest or would look to be or could be given the choice and level of stock we carry.
  15. As above when I used to do treework. Then hedge trimming really kicks in in July. I'm wondering if the effects of the storms a year and a half ago are now wearing off. It gave a very big boost to the industry in general Feb 2014 onwards....
  16. You prob could yourself but it is the burrs that really get woodworkers juices flowing! They are what people are after. We should really have a burr thread on here so people who find them can move them on quickly - only issue can can be the transport or distance..
  17. You will be able to find them - but I think a lot of people working with trees get fed up with being offered less than firewood prices! If you pay what people ask for then it works well for both parties - ie you get your burrs and the seller will then keep an eye out for them in the future for you.... because it was worth their while to do so on the first sale.
  18. Some cracking work there Tony and some quality original makings - impressed
  19. It should clamp up fine Stevie as it is - I wouldn't add anything under there. I would just make sure is very clean and dry on both clamps and bar, sequentially tigheten until feels solid and you should have no problems. If you do let me know and can look at replacing both the clamps and the bolts but it should be fine. The only time I had this happen was when I had some bar oil under the clamp. After I cleaned it up it was fine and never had it since.
  20. Usually this is down to not tightening the bolts sequentially ie doing one tight then the other tight... if you tighten like car wheel working from one to the other so the clamp sits flat. Another reason is if there is a bit of chain oil or grease there - make sure the clamps and bar are clean and grease free. It shouldn't be happening on even a double end mill set up. Hope the above helps.
  21. Got to be around £800-00 at least I would say - great work! In theory should be twice as much as that but being realistic...
  22. I have now got a 25" Sugi pro bar in for the Husky 560XP and other saws running a K095 mount. It is a long bar for that saw but we have sold them in the past. Chain spec is .325 .058 92 drive links but you could change the nose to a 3/8 .058 nose if you wanted to run 3/8 chain. Guide bars Or you can put the part number into google or search box on website etc which is: BC3T-8J63-A
  23. The powersharp system does not cut or sharpen up like a standard chain - it is only valid for those who blunt a chain and then have to throw it away... for this sort of customer it works well. For everyone else it is not that useful.
  24. Loved the drone footage there Rich and as said ropework was lovely and smooth
