  1. I wasn't hungover I'm a pale miserable looking sod on most days! I'll be there for 2012 as the headaches nearly all gone...
  2. Thanks that was the idea to try and give a more realistic view of what the system actually does.
  3. I'd forward this to around 3.30 as most of the first part discusses changing the bar over. Summary on powersharp : It works It doesn't cut as fast as normal chain You can still knacker the chain hitting stones or metal. Cutting out roots will also knacker the chain! (then takes 3 to 5 sharpens to get it cutting again and even then doesn't cut like it does new). More expensive than normal cross cut chain Really for home owners that don't know how to sharpen their own chain. Still nice to see a new concept and manufacturers bringing new ideas to the table. 4. Thanks Morten
  5. Yes but just a couple though aye Justin (and see if you can't water them down a little... ). In fact maybe a half of Carlsberg would be better... loverly cold crisp Carlsberg Mark...

    Stihl EZ file

Yes that's fine register on the site alaskan mill I home of the portable chainsaw mill and then send me an e-mail with nptc number.
  8. If you've that sort of size Jon how about a mill to make some planks with? Must be some millable timber you have there.
  9. Here's some pics of full chisel and semi chisel (although the manufacturers have slightly confused the issue by adding their own micro chisel which I think is somewhere in between the 2). I spent a long time putting together a chain manual to unravel the terms particularly Stihl have added to their chains in order to 'big them up' Crazy seeing as they prob make the best chain anyway.... why confuse everyone??!! For instance the word 'rapid' features in a lot of their chains.... why?? Why not also have sizzlingly amazingly super duper fast... http://www.chainsawbars.co.uk/media/documents/chain-info.pdf This gives profiles of all the main stihl and oregon chains and shows the difference in chisel and semi chisel.
  10. Not really found the 880 wanders in the cut but mine mainly lives in the mill and I never look forward to taking it out as it's such a pain changing chains on a big bar..... Never used the 3120 but mainly because I've only ever heard bad things about them.... would like a go on one maybe one day just to compare.....
  11. She looks off her head or maybe just boozed up but pretty shocking... Pig headed ignorance.... I wonder if she works or is on benefits and/or what her contribution to society is
  12. Set the lawnmower down a notch? Sorry not helpful.... I'm ignorant of fungi but these won't last long will they? And they're not hurting the lawn it's just cosmetic for a week or 2.
  13. That's a better spread than I have when I get home!! I've only ever used an 880 - it does the job fine but can be a pig to start...
  14. Yes but it was only half that had not gone off the other half had gone pretty hard... and it said on the tin it would go over other treatments..... I think it was down to cold temperatures.... Lesson learned but I wish it hadn't been such a big lesson
  15. I'll give it a try
  16. Thanks but the only thing with those systems it involves mixing etc.... I really want the put it on and there you go sir! Cause I'm lazy in this respect. I'll have to have a drying room where I can increase the temp I think.

    Ip Man

This is my fav martial arts film my tai chi teacher put me onto it..... just superb. Too busy to train these days but hope to return to it at some point.... no excuse but not got the energy at the mo
  18. Yes it's quite gloopy but can give a nice sealed finish good for wiping etc... I'll know for next time at least just what you need for the elboes is another load of unnecessary sanding!
  19. I'd pay the money and get it done in one hit with no hassals I reckon Tom....
  20. I think it was down to thick coat and low temperature. What was more gutting was when I got to the 4th board it had hardened a bit more overnight in the kiln.... would they have dried with time? Dunno.... but a lesson to myself in that I need a proper area to dry things in. I'll put some pics up when they're (hopefully) all finished!
  21. Yep some of those very first 3" elm planks. They look good now but it's taken a lot of 'character' to soldier on and re do them... prob a good 8 hours.... Ah well.
  22. All great work but particularly loving the steps.... with a tree on a lean or a bendy bit of wood I can see some potential in these
  23. Codensed story. Job to make long bar type shelves that join together. 2.4m long 3" thick and heavy. Resin filled any holes which took ages. Finally finished and one last coat of thick polyurethene on top... .... and the stuff wouldn't go hard. Could scratch my nails through it after 3 days. I think a combo of thick coat and cold night... Had to sand all 4 boards down (took twice as long as kept gumming the papers up) and re treat (with a different varnish). Very painful lesson indeed....
  24. Not worth your while I'd say. I'd cut it all now and then air dry as usual outside somehow for next year..... Unless you have a massive set up kilning logs is prob not worth it.
  25. Bellows is the answer.... I got some antiquey ones off ebay and I do not know why I didn't get any sooner... Ruddy amazing how easy it is to get embers and some kindling and get it going again.
