  2. Wouldn't spoil my day at all. I think in that environment it looks pretty cool. Most would just have felled it. This will throw a spanner in the works:scared1: I'm just thinking out loud on my computer hear David. Would it not be possible to ringbark some branches. It could add to the overall effect of that type of work. And you would see the coronets.

  13. Spot on. Topping is what people do when they have no knowledge of the alternatives, or the skill to carry them out. I too have carried out 'large reductions' in order to save a tree (in the right situation). Hell, look at my avatar.......Only Joking

  18. I've cheekily email a few companies that carry out Lightning Protection in the UK about training.....just waiting to here back.
  19. I got the impression he is looking into giving training at some stage. But I am really trying to find out who gives 'proper' training in order that we can install it in accordance with BS standards....but there is none for trees.

  21. We certainly do in South East Kent. Quite obviously we are talking about specimen trees here. I have spoken with Ben. Apparently he will shortly be doing an 'introduction' on the subject at one of the AA meetings around Sept. He is obviously well into the subject.
