  1. The K40 was (and still is) a very good antenna. Here's mine just about to get trashed at a competition in France:bawling: [ame= ] [/ame]
  2. I still use CB with my offroad club. Still got my old Harrier CBX which still works a treat. My Handle is 'Haggis' for obvious reasons. I'm off to France next weekend camping, largerring up, BBqing and offroad driving....will post some phots when I get back.
  3. I first seen them when Jack Kenyan took us on one of his 'fungi walks' in Great Windsor Park. Some students from Merrist Wood had done them. Looked fantastic in that environment.
  4. That really is a familiy business.....
  5. Those cuts are pretty cool. Bet they look great once they have aged a little.
  6. Running Bowline (saves me climbing on pollard point to tie it).......There's a groundie just making sure it goes the right way as it was quite gusty. There's also a port-a-wrap at the bottom of the tree.
  7. I work with my son who has all of his tickets up to CS39. We get on very well (He only needs a slap very occasionally). Anyone else work with familiy ? This is us on a Re-Pollard yesterday.
  8. Yesterdays Job - Re-Pollard of Sycamore. I never feel comfortable climbing on them.
  9. Tea made by the client .........99% of them are always appreciated. We all have T with 1 Sugar and Milk when clients are making it. But all three of us prefer it completely different at home...........I think you all know why:proud:
  10. Next time you (or someone) pass it....can you get a phot:wave:
  11. That's fantastic
  12. Me too.....it's scandelous
  13. Takes me ages to read a book. I leave it so long between reads....I've forgot what I've read, and have to start the chapter again. I have the book recommended by ANNA (The Woodcutters Tale). Should be finished it in about three or four years, if anyone wants to borrow it.
  14. I found that tree climbing improves your balance dramatically and can only benifit your rock climbing.
  15. Incase you have not spotted it. 'The Trees That Made Britain' On BBC2 tonight (Friday). new series
  16. This should be on the top tips page. Reduced two Sycamore by 20% with silkys and realised when we were clearing up.....we had Hi-Flex Type C on. .......Not Clever:drunk:
  17. Turned up to do a lift on this Acacia (Spikeyus mungus) to find this half way up one of the stems. Decided due to the location (traffic etc) was best to get some of the hieght and weight off. You can just about see a name plaque outside the house. It says Conqueror House and is part of the old Paper Mill in Dover. Just a useless bit of info
  18. Sorry for delay guys just had some tucker:proud: I'm down in Broadstairs near Margate.
  19. Thats where I am at the mo. Although I have had mine three years and there is wear on the bridge from the sliding dees.
  20. Haven't considered it yet Pete......as I was planning on doing Capel for definite. Like you say .....you really need to check harness out before buying. So I will probrably go.
  21. Had a little panda 4x4 in Scotland....great in the snow with it's little narrow tyres. Just need a little weight in the back for good traction. Was a brilliant little motor.
  22. No I havent......was hoping to get up to Capel and check some harnesses out ....as I need to replace my Weaver (double sliding dee). Very pleased with the support the weaver gives......as I'm a lardy....isshhh. g7ree........names Mac
  23. Depends what you want it for......I have used one of those harnesses. No good if you are climbing more than an hour. No padding to speak of on legs. My harness is the most important piece of kit for me.......Get a good one!!!! If you buy that Petzl....you will sell it on ebay a week later. There is a thread somewhere on here......see what other people are wearing........or, ask Jonsie if he has any deals on:icon14:
  24. I'm pretty sure I have prevented accidents happen in the past............. And........I would be pretty interested to see the ages of those who have had accidents. IMO, I find that as you get older you are able to 'predict' what 'could go wrong' as a consequence of your actions.....not just the obvious. I also take fewer risks than once upon a time. I can relate it to driving....no doubt there are some younger drivers who can drive well/fast .......but do they anticipate what 'can' go wrong as well as an older (not ancient) driver........probrably not.......IMO Of course I am generalising ...and this is not true of all younger climbers/drivers.
  25. As Queen would say....."It's a kind of magic" That's gonna be very nice when it's done Pete. Don't gas it.........They just don't sound the same
