  1. I have a large size 'weaver' with sliding Ds (a must). It is very comfortable.
  2. Yep......count me in
  3. How much did you charge for the stump grinding???????/..........He He:drunk:
  4. That's what I love about this work........never quite sure what your gonna turn up too. Nice job
  5. I have one . . . . .and although it never gets used much, it really has earned it's dollar in tricky situations.. . ............ .and kept me safe.
  6. Going to Capel.........Will be wearing Acorn Tree Surgery t-shirts (if the weathers ok) make sure you say hello
  7. STOP........Tell me more
  8. Makes my blood boil....Obviously have no regard for the care of trees nor the safety of people.
  9. Most councils publish planning applications on their website. but Thanet District council does not (where I am)......../bugger It is a great way of seeing who has put planning in for tree work. If the 'agent' wasn't another tree surgeon, I used to send them a letter offering my services. A great way of targeting people who you know are going to have tree work.
  10. On the contrary......I have been working on trees with TPOs and in Conservation Areas for 9 years. I'm saying that there seems to be a discreprancy as to what planning is required by various LPAs. However.....MisterTee seems to have cleared things up.....Bottom line is, put the Planning in whether you think it is required or not. MAC
  11. If your thinking about it......it's too small.
  12. Really nice phots.....Nice one. My favourite time of year.
  13. Good stuff......
  14. I have just applied to have branches removed from protected (TPOs) council trees overhanging a clients garden. This is a first for me ..........as in the area I used to work, the council did not require planning for works to someone elses treesoverhanging your property. I used to phone the tree officer saying I was going to do the work.......incase they had any phone calls. What have you experienced in this situation????
  15. On my quotation it says "Please do not ask our operators to carry out works that is not included in the specification, no matter how small" But as far as this thread is concerned..... the best way (IMO) to avoid conflict is to ensure someone will be at the property when the work is carried out.....And you get cups of fresh tea.
  16. Been there ....done that. Doesn't it just pee you off.........Sounds like if you had butchered the tree in half the time, they would probrably have been delighted with the work.
  17. I usually use a timber hitch as you can see by the photo on the left. However no matter how tight it starts it usually becomes loose after a few lumps have been loaded on it (no matter how many wraps I put on it). HOW DO YOU ATTACH YOURS.....Photos would be appreciated. PS. I usually use poly prop for lowering and on the tree.
  18. Definately send it back.......The shop will probrably do the right thing. But if they dont......Lets name and shame them.
