  1. awesme to watch ..but even though i am no epxert on heli jobs..some of the cut were dam close and pretty dangerous.
  2. being fast climber that is fit doesn't mean you are a good arborist. I know tree worker that know there technical stuff when they talk ...but can't struggle to do basic tree removals. I know tree tree climbers who are trying to become consultants but don't know which branches to prune when doing basic height reductions. To me the best type of tree worker/climber is someone who is methodical. someone that is relaxed and works skillfully to make a job go faster and safer. Its very eay to get up a tree and bomb it all down..but theres no skill in that. Also a lot of guys want to jump to the top of the game ..but you have to put your time in to make big removals look easy and develop a good eye for ornamental pruning either on small garden trees or large trees. Does been a good climber make you a good tree worker..I don't think so.
  3. Bought new ms66 about 2 months ago aprx fom reputable dealer dowm south. It has onyl been used couple times sonce then and the chainbrake doesn't work...i needs a good hard wack to go one. Also the rear handle is coming apart. I am starting to think this saw is a chinese fake. anyone else had probs with ms66?
  4. thats great! i have big dead elm to remove .Its got slugs falling out it and i could prob push it over if i tried. I don't have enough climbing skills to remove it as i ' Can'y climb any tree ' but i am sure one of the egotistic pros on here can deal with. Whos up for the job? P.s i'll have a ambulance waiting on site for you.
  5. Big tree don't worry me mate..its guy like yourself that don't have a good eye for whats to dangerous..or whats to much risk to climb. Sites like this are great for learning to stop future accidents within the arbor industry...but most accidents are caued by ***** who think any trees climbable.. do us all a favour and Wise up!
  6. It is dry humour Skyhuck. I am sure you would be as annoyed a i am am after getting tossed a around tree after explaining what axactly needs done. Anyways live and learn. I More thing though..the job where i refused to climb tree...i wasn't get paid enough to take any risks that day and i eouldn't be getting full rewards for the risk taken...bla,bla ..you seem to have more probs with this than i do...U want a straw ?! No need to get upset i am scottish myself and was born in glasgow..doesn't mean i like the place and i do think glagow ha a higher percentage of muppets han anywhere else on the globe...esp in the tree industry!
  7. I have been doing my own personal tree investigations into tree surgeons in Glasgow. I have found that 95% of them have severe mental disabilities and don't understand what ' let it run ' means. I have tried everything from changing my accent - gonna let it run ya Dober! etc and still they don't undertand. I think the fish suppers and irn bru have been the main cause of the severe retardation of Glasgow folk. Anyone in glasgow looking for a job that doesn't stand around like a Zombie.? Had to get that out my system...aaah. Very annoyed from getting thrown around tree twice today..almost got really messed up!:mad1: sick of baby sitting full grown men.
  8. 130 - 150 depending on area. fopr tipper van high sides brimmed. Or 4 pound per bag.
  9. I was out last night...bad hangover today...went to gym and sweated it out and drank loads of water. Best way to get rid of hangover is to sweat it out...feel fine now.
  10. complete waste of money. got weblink sponser add ....and only 1 call all year! they don't advertise enough for the general public to know about yell.com.
  11. I am doing a job for T in The park shortly ( deadwooding and hanging swings ) Anyways they are thropwing in 2 V.I.P TICKETS. The tickets are worth £275 each for fri/sat/sun. I am busy that weekend so if anyone wants to give me a decent offer they can take them. T in the Park 2009 Very Good Lineup this year and v.i.p area has loads of extras. pm me.
  12. Nae bother. me also
  13. being phyisicaly fit and strong is very important. Have wworked with many guys that will avoid dragging and moving heavy logs just becasue they ain't got the strength and cardio .
  14. I rarely climb with a good guy on the ground ...makes me nervous!..but when i have a guy that i know will be fast and calm when i need rescued then i get more confident. Also..it is far more important to have someone on the ground that i very good at first aid. How many people have bought celox here??
  15. true..but work harder you can also become weaker with out the right amount of rest and nutrition. Its a science like olympic sports...don't over do it..and do only exercises that are of value..e.g buttflexing or doing some sort of rear delt definition training won't make you and athelete.
  16. also Squats are great. and if you are interested in just becoming a light awesome climber ...start rock climbing!..or do chins with a rope.
  17. DEADLIFTS. Most people get sore back and injuries..not because of over work..but becasue there lower back is to weak. arb work does your arms, legs, abs. ..but when you are climbing in harness all day your lower back gets lazy..and weak. do deadlifts to make it stronger.
  18. I really can't see i way of takig some trees down ..other than climbing them. unless there build a super helicopter than can take full trees at a time.?! Acess is usually the problem ..and climbing trees is and always will be the way to work on most trees. :001_cool:
  19. Just Curious whats the best stump grinder to buy? If you had a budget of £6000 what machine would be ideal to buy secondhand? Cheers
  20. its just so dam beautiful. :001_tt1:. def would love to have one.
  21. don't get tips i glasgow as most folk are nobs here. But when i work in stirlingshire i get tips all the time. always cups of tea. Once we all got full english breakfast made up...fresh eggs from hens outside. Glasgow...not a chance!
  22. how much? i am interested..my stihls are for the bin
  23. not bad..like to take my time and be safe . Rather methodical one might say.
  24. yeah this is happening all the time in glasgow esp. I had my gear stolen a year ago also under the same circumstances! feckers! i think the police don't do ****! we should rack our minds together work out who this is..i bet it is the same group of nobs.
