    One of the guys I was working with swears by his. I tried a number of times to persuade him to use a bigger saw but he wasn't having it!

    I have about 2 slices of toast for breaky and a mug of non sugared tea. Then maybe a bacon and egg butty on way to job. A couple of sarnies for lunch and then evening meal. I have never calorie counted but I bet it is a lot less than the recommended amounts.

    I agree Steve. You know though as well as I do that there are more and more people coming into the industry. In South East London many firms will pay peanuts for staff on the terms I mentioned above. They will keep paying the peanuts because there is quite a queue for people looking to get into the industry. If the (self) employed person doesn't like it then someone else will do it for the same money or even less. I am not saying I agree with it, I'm just saying, thats all.

    As opposed to the bosses who have all guys on a self employed basis, providing their own ppe and sometimes saws working from them 5 days a week. They have the perks of staff but none of the responsibility for sick pay, holidays, CPD, Employers NI contributions and tax. Mmmm.

    Cheers. Nod at Treeworker does courses when there is the demand. I just bought the Samson splicing handbook and self taught and chatting to others. There are loads of videos of double braid splices on you tube.

    Don't be bitter about other people sells stuff. Good on them for finding that niche market for selling. Yes to us it is a log. The the buyer it is a fantastic atmosphere and talking point at the dinner party, wine evening or barB. Get out there, get some made and then go into the poshest garden centre nr you and see if they sell, sale or return.

    I am not extracting the urine mate. I have quite a few friends who are dyslexic. Most of them have come out of university with good degrees. The reason they passed wasn't dyslexia, it was bloody hard work. If they could write a 10000 word dissertation and be bothered to spell check it, why can't some people do the same on a forum where posts are considerably shorter?

    Yes but dyslexia shouldn't be used as an excuse. Punctuation. The difference between knowing your sh1t and everyone knowing you're sh1t.

    Finished of yesterday's Beech tree. Lowered the right stem in three pieces and pulled into the truck behind tree. A couple of choggs to get to roof height. The ripped the truck 3 foot down middle and the chopped bits off in half rounds. Cleared the roof on right with no hassle and then only hit 1 bail in the rest of the trunk. Happy daze. Home by 2.30pm.

    Ground level, hopefully. Rumour has it the butt has concrete in there. Hope not! It will be tricky getting it off from where it has grown through and into the garage roofs.

    A couple if pictures from today's Beech tree dismantle. Tricky drop zone with two garages etc. so every thing rigged. Forgot to get a before pics so first picture is at tea break. Not the biggest tree but a lot of wood. Back tomorrow to finish it off.

    Some bright spark has decided to fill this cavaty on a Syc with ballast. Knackered every saw on site.
