  1. Fresh afternoon in Oslo, Norway. Taken 20 mins ago.
  2. Steve, that first ms200t you ported for me has started to act a bit dicky again. Any chance you could take a look at it some time. I will be driving up your way soon so could pop it in as I pass. Not in any real rush for a fix as the other 2 are stonking. Cheers.
  3. Sometimes it is intentional though. Years ago we did a very large job for a housing association. Removing multiple Lombardi pops from HA land bordering with a 60t mobile tower crane. All resident had been informed and one particular guy just refused to cooperate and he implied that he would do every thing in his power to stop the work going ahead. The land bordered Network rail land and the trees had to be removed. The job needed railway shut down at approx 10k per day and had been scheduled for months. The crane was in the region of 5k plus per day and testing in the car park by Network Rail officials deems it unstable for that size crane. New mats had to be fabricated at 12k a piece. Plus the costs of wages for 8 guys dubble bubble over a bank holiday weekend. Sure enough the car park was empty when we arrived apart from one car parked in the middle right where the crane needed to set up. We used go jacks to move the car as the HA had laid out so much money and time and effort in planning, the job could not be moved to another day. We pushed the car out of the way and around the corner out of site and cracked on. Fair enough it was exceptional circumstances and needed to be done but there was too much on the line to not do it. Never had any come back from the guy. I hope he found his car though.
  4. From the balcony... Just chillin as I am doing night work at the moment. Might go for a fish down on one of the islands...
  5. -4 and crystal clear here. Oslo.
  6. Good stuff. There good money in them there logs. Honest.
  7. Do you want someone to cut the trees for you both aswell.
  8. I think if they are good enough for the American westcoast fallers, they will be man enough for our UK trees.
  9. Nice one mate, whenever I have bottled one over, I have inserted a metal strip about 3 inches wide and half inch thick. Stops the bottle punching into/through the rot.
  10. Been using a 300mx for the last couple of weeks, along with a 465ex. Great machines.
  11. Cheers Josh, the reason for the crane was speed and the garden was about 10 foot or so lower than the ground level. it could have been a right bitch if we had to drag it out, plus it all had to come through a gate. Did another Birch past the Elm, a willow and an Ash tree. Crane left site by 1pm and we deadwooded, braced an thinned a selection of trees in the afternoon. The chipper is about 10 inch.

  13. Lovely carving there. Congratulation on the new addition to the family aswell.
  14. Have you? I have to agree with Matt and that is me speaking from experience of having worked with both sorts of people.
  15. Just a quick clip of one pick from a number of trees removed with a crane in Oslo, early last week. we removed a couple of Birch, an Ash and a willow. The crane driver was great and spoke excellent English, very handy. [ame] [/ame]
  16. I watched it on my iPhone. Nice vid Tim.
  17. Another thing to note... if the pantin is set too high, adjust it so it is as low as possible and it'll not pop out.
  18. Couple of pictures of today's jobs.
  19. Muay Thai training since 1995. Must admit if I get to thine gym 2-3 times in a week it is good going these days. Usually only get a private session in on a Saturday mor ing with my oldest son now. He is 6 and been doing MT a year. Check out the Muay Thai thread mate in the Lounge. Some great fights I have posted on there if you like you Thai boxing authentic. Chok Dee!
  20. Lovely. Didn't do any re shaping but I did find an old elwell at my old mans in the summer. Reg round the edge then shaped with a file and then oil stone. All after taking a lot of the rust off and sanded and oiled the original handle. Razor sharp it was. Bit dull now as have been using it quite a bit on day to day jobs.
  21. Click one of the links on the side mate. See for yourself. I turn up a couple of toppers, 441 full climbing kit and rigging if needed but charge more for that. Not added it up but I reckon it is more than you stated, but then again I float to site so my transport costs are minimal.
  22. I hear you there. I know guys who charge 3 hundred pound per man per day. And pay one of the crew 50-75 pound a day. Fair enough sometimes they have more kit, it all about being business savvy.
  23. But are the other tradesman paying their labourers 160 per day? I doubt it.
