  1. Yeah but you don't have to wear it on your noggin do you Benn? As I was given mine, I bought a few accessories from ebay at a bargain. Chest Harness, Head Harness, and Monopod. Plus a carry case for safety. Although I am sure you can get the bits and bobs for other cameras.
  2. Steve, No error messages. I select the files from my folders, click upload. Usually you see a message - your files are uploading or such like. The button just goes grey and nothing happens... Files are pretty large. So i tried it with one. Not even working with one file.
  3. Steve, I have tried uploading pictures to this thread but it isn't allowing me...? Any ideas?
  4. Cheers mate. As for the guy in your question... I couldn't possible comment as he would beat the b'jeezuz outta me.
  5. Mine is set on 1080 30fps W. Also I have the time lapse setup to take a snap shot every 60 seconds whilst it is filming. The settings can be fiddled with a lot. Do you think the setting in the clips has a lot of fish eye effect?
  6. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSFi069O6r8&feature=c4-overview&list=UUDxq_mj90Xl1_Jnwij0bzkA]pine purley - YouTube[/ame]
  7. Had to take out a leaning Pine tree yesterday as it had shifted in the winds and pitched towards the road. The root plate was cracking and lifting and threatening to fail. The tree officer had checked the tree and recommended it be removed asap. We had an early start and pieces the crown out by hand so not to damage the neighbour tree and phone lines. All work was done from a 29m platform. I know MEWPs aren't every ones cup of tea, but it was on site, so why not use it. Once the crown was out I rigged the timber to avoid damage to the road and the clients wall. We also did a leaning Leylandii of similar nature in the after noon. Anyway, some pics, and a short video. I am trying to get to grips with the GoPro editing suite, so bear with me.
  8. Bailer twine and 3 large sockets as a throw line after my throw lines got well stuck.
  9. Aaah, hypothetically I must be dumb. Missed that one haha.
  10. Just chop it up. It is on the floor, right? You said it failed in the first post... Or is all the bravado hyperthetical?
  11. A thing of beauty
  12. Just don't call yourself a 'subbie climber'... as the company you are working for will approach their Insurers saying 'blah, blah, blah, subbie this etc' To avoid confusion, use the term Freelance Climber. It has worked for me.
  13. Cool shots Reg. I am really liking the option I found on the Hero to take a shot or time lapse every minute whilst it is recording. You get some dross but some crackers aswell.
  14. Not quite. It was a job to help clear a Sperm Whale after it washed up dead on the beach in Ramsgate. Mick Stockbridge had already helped out with the autopsy the day before and was included in the filming of 'Inside Natures Giants.' We got a call the day after to cut the thing up and help remove it along with a 13t Excavator. More info and pics here... http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/picture-forum/26598-whale-alert-whale-alert.html
  15. Yes there will be a part two. At some point hehe.
  16. I heard contour had gone out of business Benn? maybe a cheap deal could be had. What you using? I have been using the HDHero 3 (as it was free) but battery life is poor.
  17. Lovely job. It's great when you don't have to clear up. Cheers Reg.
  18. One from an unusual job a couple of years ago.
  19. Re: getting the line back, they either wipped it to me or tied it onto my climb line. The wind was a 45 degree'er though. As I lowered it down it was clearing the peacock shed and coming off me at about 45 degrees. The rigging line was 16mm Polydine, just a bit dirty, the lowering device is a Stein 2 ton fixed bollard as opposed to the portywrap type. Along with the impact block the setup can handle most bits as long as you are not proper stupid.
  20. Forgot to mention though, good quality ground crew always make the day run smooth. Cheers.
  21. No worries Mark, cheers.
  22. 16mm Polydine for me.
  23. Have a pantin on mists days for bigger trees. Single or double rope. I still like to footlocker to tail of my line though.
  24. Milky Chance, remember you heard it here... He will be the next Springsteen in your music collection. Haha
  25. Yes it was on a Gopro hero 3 black. Not that I use the remote anyway. Cheers.
