1. My mate from the midlands used to call them 'punch bark trees'
2. I could be wrong but I was always under the impression that Sequoia is a wellingtonia. Where the Redwood is a Coastal Redwood.
3. I was checking out that rope with some of the SRT boys I work with. You went for the 11mm? We checked the 11.7 and the stretch was considerably less than on the 11mm. SO you rate it then?
4. Nice job fellas. Adam, what is that rope your using, hedera?
5.
Hi John, I could do the wednesday for you if thats cool? 23rd of October. Where was the job again? Cheers.

7.
Hi John, Yeah back from Norway. It was great. Thinking about going back the first week or so in November. When exactly do you want to do the Lime tree? I do have a number of days left to fill in October so should be able to help out. Cheers.

8. I would just get a cost for a replacement tree and give them the option of buying that or going to court. I bet the cost for a replacement will be in the thousands. Not everywhere has 30 foot beech trees growing in their nurseries. I once chopped down a Tree of heaven that was shot. The TO insisteed on a replacement and to get a 30 foot Tree of Heaven it had to be imported in from Holland. It cost thousands. On the legal front, most household insurance policies have legal cover. That may stretch to a neighburly dispute.
9. Surely that is criminal damage? Get a quote for a replacement 30 foot beech tree. I bet they will be surprised when they see the delivery and labour costs to plant that beauty.
10. A picture from last year. Old manor gardens and we were doi g some restoration work on an old grown out Yew hedge. Turned around and the sun was just starting to burn through the mist opening up an old avenue of Lime trees. About an hour after sunrise.
11. I like that
12. Cuddy-wifter or cack handed is meaning 'very left handed' Not sure where the cuddy term comes from but we used it up north when i was growing up. Cack handed comes from using the left to wipe ones harris, where as you use the right to eat with. Still a tradition in places such as Thailand. Edit: Taken from the 'left handers club' news letter. "Cuddy Wifter" is an old English slang term for Left Handed. LHC newsletter editor Keith was on a golf tour recently and his official tour name (allocated by the other players) was set as Cuddy Wifter so now he is commonly known at the golf club as "Cuddy". The name was actually started by a man from London's East End who said it was an old Cockney word for lefthander. Here is what we have found out about this term: According to the BBC website, it comes from Northumbria It was used in the chorus line of Ian Radburn's song "Lefties Lament", as - "We're the Cuddy Wifter Winners, we're the LEFTIES". If you have not heard the song you can see the lyrics and hear Ian performing it here The term was recorded in Hansard, the record of UK parliamentary business, when used by Peter Luff MP when supporting the Left Handers Club in promoting equal treatment for lefthanders (Peter Luff is a lefthander himself and an Honorary Member of the Left Handers Club) One forum correpondent reports: In my school days 1950s a cuddy wifter was a stunning punch with the left fist. - See more at: http://www.anythinglefthanded.co.uk/newsletters/201105-2.html#sthash.4OKHQaq3.dpuf
13. My dad is the same. He was a right handed fast bowler for years, he he batted left hand. He plays golf left handed, to quite a high standard. Yet he writes, shoots and used to play squash right handed. Whereas my old dear was such a cuddy-wifter she needed a left handed tin opener and sciscors. Yet she played golf right handed.
14. I am pretty much completely ambidextrous. Saw use in either hand has never been a problem. Never had a backhand over head smash in badminton when I was younger... Just two forehand smashes. As for shooting, I should the gun/rifle on the left but am right eye dominant. When using the shotgun, I have to sight the bird as though I am using a rifle. Can also shoot from the right shoulder with a rifle, but need a bipod or similar to lean on.
15. I was reading issue 4 this weekend.
16. Bloody hell, why is everyone going mad at Horatio? There is nothing wrong with a man wanting his employees to earn their money! I think if you replaced the word 'Running' with 'a bit of effort' it may have come across better though mate. Either way, I am fed up working with slackers, and it isn't just the young.
17. Sounds like one of my neighbours. Shared stack and when the builders burnt all the debris in the fireplace the neighbour (on other side) got smoked out. In the end it was an old house and knackered mortar. Instead of fixing the leak they blocked up the fireplace. Maybe your neighbour needs a new flue? Or as Mick said get it rodded.
18. I quite like them. Never seen one in the UK. We found one on the beach in the North of Norway a few years ago. The kids started chasing it with rocks trying to kill it. Saying they kill the natural birdlife they have. I managed to get a couple of pictures before they went on and did their thing.
19. Congratulations. So you are on the approved contractors scheme then?
20. Well done to you and the missus. Congratulation, now the fun begins!
21.

23. I was told that at a traditional cobblers. My mates had their Haix done at a saddlers and leatherworker nr Orpington. Cost about 45 quid I think. Most of that was for the Vibram sole though.
24. You can get them done as long as the grey is in tact. Apparently it is a different compound that cannot be repaired. A place local to me does it. A couple of guys had their Haix done but when I tried to get my first pair of airstreams done I had left it too long and that was the reason for not being able to do them. I have had 3 pairs of them now and each has last about 2 years so I am not complaining.
25. Any off the arborwear website. The ascent are great but not cheap.
