but change their mind when they get their quote:scared1:
  2. I would have thought that as you make £500 per day this would be peanuts? http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=2814&page=4 But on principle I agree it like being charged to enter a shopping center:thumbdown:
  3. If I was an exhibitor I would want the trade to get in for free! If your new to the trade you are already paying out for your training etc, and that £15 would pay for your lunch and a pint, or you could buy a few crabs or the like and bring some butties.
  4. I DID NOT say I thought that carbon caused warming! What I said was if you grow a tree cut it down and burn it, then grow another tree, you have released NO carbon!.

    Ouch

Rings are OK for the turners, they make bowls out of them with knot running round the out side.
  6. But if you burn fire wood INSTEAD of gas, oil, or coal, you are not adding carbon from millions of years ago and if more wood is grown to be burn you will be constantly fixing and releasing the same carbon, so it's therefor carbon neutral:001_tt1:

What have you done with the timber? Wood turners love it ! Did you enjoy the white sticky glue like sap?
  8. Once had a guy in the next garden who came out with a upright household vacuum and started to vac up the sawdust off his lawn:confused1:
  9. If it has puzzled you, surly this is the perfect thread for you to find out. A couple of reasons people may give could be practice, if they don't do a lot of climbing they may wish too get experience or avoiding catching the ground with the saw. Not something I do but, each to there own.
  10. As the oil price rises the amount we have grows, they can open old Wells that had become inviable when oil was only $90 a barrel, and there is oil sand which is very costly to process but if the price is high it worth doing. I don't see us running out any time soon.

Thats the main reason I bought mine, tuppy, to my mind "time is money". I have always worked on the principle that every job has a price, so if a job is worth £500, if someone choses to do it with a bow saw and a small van, and it takes them a week to do they may be happy taking £100 a day and profit of say £60 , but if someone else comes with a truck and chipper and a couple of staff and does it in one day his costs are higher but he gets more done so although his % of prifit on the job is less than the guy with the bow saw, over the week, as long has he has enough work, he will make more money.

If you have a crane, good access can reduce a job by way more than half.

Yes, we would strip out the brash and chip up, then crane out the timber in 4.5M lengths straight into the trailer:001_cool:

I'd be up for that, if people find me work I expect them to make a living:001_smile:

Yes with the crane, me and my man, one day I would say. Would add the timber to my ever growing pile
