  1. Was a very good result, the pictures and story are quite funny:thumbup:
  2. Hi Metasman, do have Swans just over the summer or both winter and summer?
  3. When my Mrs and I were first married (26+years ago) we were totally skint, she baked all our own bread. My sandwiches were very substantial and filling.
  4. I have no interest in a "win" or any kind of pissing contest. I simply feel clarity is very important. There is a local council that tries to put conditions on unopposed 211's and claims listed building status protects trees within the grounds, its very unhelpful.
  5. I'm sorry you think I'm a pedant, but I think there is enough misunderstanding, without adding to it. If anything, I think you are one overcomplicating things, not me. A 211 notice is just that a "notice" not an application. The councils lack of action does not imply "agreement". It simply means they do not feel the tree concerned is worthy of TPO, for whatever reason. I not sure many TO's would thank you if you suggesting that they had "agreed" with a client topping a tree, simply because they had not prevented the work.
  6. You do not require their "agreement" they need to be notified, after 6 weeks you can crack on.
  7. Well after all the promise, today was not a patch on yesterday. Its a good job the forecasters are not payed on results, they would starve!
  8. You and I see the world very differently, but then I have never come anywhere near to blows with my bother or any other member of my family.
  9. If I were you I'd at least try and reach some kind of understanding with the guy Life is short and can get very messy.
  10. Not so. If you produce smoke that causes your neighbour a nuance, you are committing an offence.
  11. Have you ever weighed your mog full? I have a 1600, with a pretty small box, it easily carries 3 tonne of chip, a large chip bin could very quickly take you over weight.
  12. If someone is injured or worse it will.
  13. No reason to apologise at all mate
  14. Which is fine until your pulled for a spot check and find your facing a fine and points on your licence, or worse still your involved in accident and find yourself in clink, the heaver springs could even be seen as premeditation.
  15. Exactly!! The box on my mog is not huge, but will easily hold 3tonne of chip, I know because I've weighed it several times.
  16. This is also my experience. It was me that boiled my central heating. It was a big out door boiler on which I generally burnt green or under seasoned timber. I had some pop that was tucked well in under a big stack of round wood. It was very dry and burned superbly. But as others have said it takes some getting dry and if left somewhere damp will quickly become wet again. I now have a new outdoor wood gasification boiler, it burns "dry" pop very well, but requires more reloading than with better hardwood or even softwood.
  17. Clearly old explosives are not dangerous at all!!! I bet the insurance claim made interesting reading.
  18. Tonne or cube? . Plus VAT?
  19. Do people ever fit a bigger sprocket when using full skip?
