  1. They will fit no problem. The tyres are no different for split rims, I think the idea is just that its easier to change tyres without special equipment or great deal of sweat.

  3. That was a waste of good spare parts
  4. Just incase you don't get the reference, just watch the last minuet [ame] [/ame]
  5. You do that little buddy you're doing real well, keep it up sport
  6. I think the thing none vat registered people forget is that they are paying HMRC virtually every time they buy anything. At least if your vat registered you get to claim some of it back:biggrin:
  7. I'm sure your right, but your still on a winner. The key thing IMO is that your average end user is not going to bother about 5%, so why would you not register? And even if you had to swallow the 5% yourself, the claim back on plant and fuel etc, would be well worth registering
  8. Its not a vat bill, we collect vat on behalf of HMRC, because we collect the tax for them, they allow us to claim back the vat on our purchases. Anyone buying in round wood to process and retail should vat register, its a no brainer, your reclaiming at 20% and collecting at 5%. HMRC have just changed the flat rate scheme as people are profiting, the flat rate scheme is very poor compared to 20% V 5% situation with domestic fuel.
  9. Read the thread
  10. Ok, if you have sold £35K worth of logs do you not think you would be looking to restock? You would only need to buy £3K of round wood to be back at the point where HMRC are paying you
  11. Except thats not what you said, you called "utter bollocks" the statement that log sales would need to be at least 4x the value of timber purchases before vat would need to be paid to HMRC. Your now changing your tune.
  12. I trust you only left the bar and chain in the tree?
  13. If I bought in timber at a cost of £1000+vat(at 20%), I can reclaim the £200 vat back at the end of the quarter. If in the same quarter I sell £3000+vat (at 5%) of logs, I will have collected £150 of vat for HMRC, so they will owe me an additional £50 even before vat on overheads is taken into account. It really is pretty simple
  14. Especially
  15. No, it is often actually from paypal, but the payment method to paypal has not yet cleared and never will clear. Also with paypal, the buyer can claim the item was faulty or did not arrive and paypal will refund them, if you have not already withdrawn the funds you lose them.
  16. Rubbish!! Are you VAT registered? I hope not If I buy in timber, I pay 20% VAT, I can claim back 100% of that vat from HMRC. Now if I have sales in that quarter I will owe VAT on those sales, but the VAT on end user sales of wood fuel is 5%. So unless the value of the sales is 4X greater than the cost of the purchased timber in the quarter I will be receiving money from HMRC, rather than paying them.
  17. No, thats when it hits you in the face and knocks your teeth out.
  18. Not sure that can be true, otherwise Mike would not have posted that excellent video earlier.
  19. Most of the pictures I've seen of barbered trees, the gobs are far to small, imo, this is like having no gob. Many would consider my gobs far to big, but I've never had a barbers chair.
  20. Obviously you cannot exceed the trailers plated weight, but that was not the OP's question. If the trailers plated weight allows it, you can legally gross up to 31tonnes as a combination, as far as I know.
  21. This used the be the case, but its was changed to 31tonnes. https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/agricultural-tractor-and-trailer-weight-and-speed-limit-regulations
