  1. Yet it sank in water, so heavier than or as heavy as water. A cube of water weighs 1000kg, so you must have only had o.476 of a cube if actual wood. Thats a hell of a lot of air space.
  2. So you have the rams and top arms?
  3. How very dare you disrespect the mighty 460, the last of the old school stilhs, second only to the magnificent 66
  4. Access was pretty good, it was just the last half dozen which were a problem, 3 of them were huge, access from the field was good, but too wet, so used a forklift to get them down a path in 3 meter lengths, then craned onto the trailer. The wet field cost us about a day.
  5. Unfortunately the TO concerned is very experienced and of long standing. I fear they try to mislead in order to reduce the need to carry out the required paper work to have the proper protection/control. The 211 notice condition attempt shows this perfectly, they should place a TPO on the tree in question, then ask the owner to apply for consent to fell, they could then lawfully place conditions. But I guess hoping to con the tree owner into thinking they have the power to apply conditions to a 211 notice reply is easier.
  6. This was a Leylandii from a few weeks ago, we removed 65 from this site.
  7. 620kg
  8. Nicely done, but I think that saw was a bit OTT.
  9. Apparently the biggest cause of finger amputation is sunday league foot ball, chaps jumping up to hook the nets on, catch their wedding ring on the hook:001_huh:
  10. Here, here
  11. As I thought. One of our local councils seem to suffer from "mission creep":sneaky2: They are the ones who issue replanting conditions on 211 notice "consents":sneaky2:
  12. I'm contemplating getting a large conveyor, I think they are under used in yards. If I can find a decent one it will be fantastic for shifting stuff, stock piling rings and split timber, chip etc, would also be great for loading trucks and trailers.
  13. My understanding has always been that simply being in the grounds, garden or curtilage of a listed building did not protect trees, is this true?
  14. Could you water-ballast the rear tyres?
  15. Would it not be cheaper to create some hardstanding? or is this not an option?
  16. Probably a bit of both
  17. So, so long as you dismantle it quickly you'll be fine
  18. Makes sense
  19. Which part are you struggling to understand?
  20. Why are you so fixated by this I would have expected decent suppliers to simply state how poor it is that he's been supplied such poor product and how they always produce good quality product and have happy customers. Its been more a case of many alining themselves with the suppliers of the poor product and suggesting that KT is unreasonable for expecting better. People suggesting he seasons his own:confused1: why? If logs are sold as seasoned or ready to burn thats what they should be, it not exactly rocket science. If you can't guarantee seasoned logs, sell them as unseasoned or "dry your own" its pretty simple. Given the hostility on this thread I not surprised TK has not wanted to give his address and why should he.
  21. This as been a very interesting thread. I'm amazed by people attitudes to an end user of their product, l don't think TK's exspections are unreasonable. I would have expected people to be appalled by the poor product that he has been supplied, but no its as though crap, poor burning timber, in an undefinable quantity is to be exspected and he should be grateful. I'm often surprised by by how many people report not being paid or slow payment, given the general attitude of this thread I'm beginning to understand.
  22. Agreed!! And I Mark pointed out, how often we read post from people processing and delivering the same day, from the magical "seasoned cord":sneaky2:
  23. You are expecting to be paid? If I was the contractor I would be expecting to send you a bill. Maybe if they were really nice timber and there was no real tidy up, IE all the top just left there for you, the timber may cover the cost, but not something I've done or wanted to do.
