  1. If you are hedge cutting with a mog you may need some means of fixing the rear suspension, otherwise the hedge may end up with rather a nautical theme.
  2. Or simply be designed not to need one.
  3. You have been ill informed. Once the money runs out you get moved to the cheaper place. Worse plus those paying their own way are actually overpaying to subsidise those who are council funded.
  4. Yep, the system stinks:thumbdown:
  5. 8 pin every time, I fitted a 7 by mistake, I thought the saw was bust!!!
  6. Exactly!!! I spend it all now and borrow loads, that way they can't take it off you
  7. In my experience saw work need to be second nature before you even contemplate using a saw in a tree. You need to be concentrating on your climbing gear and work position, not thinking about using the saw or making cuts. You need at least a year on the floor using a saw every day, before you even start to climb, IMO.
  8. The Schiesling 550 is an awesome machine!!!
  9. Very true Good to read you Tom, hope you're well
  10. Yet it sank in water, so heavier than or as heavy as water. A cube of water weighs 1000kg, so you must have only had o.476 of a cube if actual wood. Thats a hell of a lot of air space.
  11. So you have the rams and top arms?
  12. How very dare you disrespect the mighty 460, the last of the old school stilhs, second only to the magnificent 66
  13. Access was pretty good, it was just the last half dozen which were a problem, 3 of them were huge, access from the field was good, but too wet, so used a forklift to get them down a path in 3 meter lengths, then craned onto the trailer. The wet field cost us about a day.
  14. Unfortunately the TO concerned is very experienced and of long standing. I fear they try to mislead in order to reduce the need to carry out the required paper work to have the proper protection/control. The 211 notice condition attempt shows this perfectly, they should place a TPO on the tree in question, then ask the owner to apply for consent to fell, they could then lawfully place conditions. But I guess hoping to con the tree owner into thinking they have the power to apply conditions to a 211 notice reply is easier.
  15. This was a Leylandii from a few weeks ago, we removed 65 from this site.
  16. Nicely done, but I think that saw was a bit OTT.
  17. Apparently the biggest cause of finger amputation is sunday league foot ball, chaps jumping up to hook the nets on, catch their wedding ring on the hook:001_huh:
  18. As I thought. One of our local councils seem to suffer from "mission creep":sneaky2: They are the ones who issue replanting conditions on 211 notice "consents":sneaky2:
  19. I'm contemplating getting a large conveyor, I think they are under used in yards. If I can find a decent one it will be fantastic for shifting stuff, stock piling rings and split timber, chip etc, would also be great for loading trucks and trailers.
  20. My understanding has always been that simply being in the grounds, garden or curtilage of a listed building did not protect trees, is this true?
