  1. Totally disagree!! I have had many pairs of the Haix Goretex lined boots and have found them 100% water proof, never cleaned or waxed any of them.

  6. I've given some of my clients, 3 bottles of single malt. 10 bottles of wine. 2 cases of Carlsburg. 1 bottle of sherry. Its fully tax deductible. I want to be remembered next year, especially if there is not much work about!.

  10. I disagree. I think to keep going, with care and painkillers, works better, IME.
  11. I've had it bad in the past, used one of those neoprene over sleeve thingys, really helped at the time. I just kept working and had if for about 2 years, its now completely gone haven't had it for about 4/5 years now.

  18. My nomination for funniest post must go to peter for his reply to the guy who said that any applicant for a job that was being offered would have "some pretty big boots to fill" Peter's reply had me in stitches he said "why was the last guy a clown" LMAO!!!!!!!!!
  19. I'm dyslexic, but I just use spell check!! It make it easier for others to read and over time I find it help my spelling.

  22. I think we need to remember the HSE legislation is all about "arse covering" . Its not about stopping accidents its just about being able place the blame for the accident firmly on the operator. If the legislation makes doing our job impractical that not a problem because no one is going to stop you from doing it the way you what, BUT if something goes wrong and you were not doing it THEIR way your in trouble. This plays into the hands of the big boy's, who are the only ones the HSE consult, as they give their lads a leaflet and tell them they must do it that way. If they don't do it that way and an accident happens then the boss can say "not my fault governor" even though often the time allocated for the job would not allow the recommended method to be used.
