  1. Is it wrong to speak from ones own experience?? If others have had a better experience I'm sure they will come forward and give an alternative view.
  2. As I don't sell logs I can't tell you, but if I was selling logs I would measure the bag or truck back and give them the dimensions.
  3. I keep hearing that UK mogs are over priced, well if thats the case why don't some of these who keep telling use we're paying over the odds start importing them and selling them for much less????? They could make a good living and save us a few quid!! I ain't gona hold my breath!!!!!!
  4. Statement of fact comes to my mind!!!! I don't think there would much difficulty finding plenty would could stand up in court and back it up with their tails of woe. These are of course my views and do not in any way represent the views of arbtalk
  5. I would give them external measurements and allow them to calculate there own volumes.
  6. Most of the above is not true!! Sorry:001_tt2:
  7. I put all my time and energy into MY business!! So I don't have any time or energy left to worry about what others do, be they "cowboy" or not. Works for me!! I think that you would find that more legislation would impact us far more than the less legitimate traders.
  8. Having a fortnight off, so going back on the 7th.
  9. I would only ever sell wood by the "bag" or "load", if you go down the road of quantifying the amount of wood, you are leaving your self open to prosecution. I know someone who felt they were getting short measure from their coal merchant. They rang Trading Standards and they came and swept out the coal bunker before a delivery, they then weighed the delivered coal and sure enough the amount on the invoice did not match the derived amount. He was prosecuted and had to pay a hefty fine, plus they would be breathing down his neck for many years to come. If you state a volume or weight be sure your accurate. One of your competitors could get his mum to place an order and ring T/S.
  10. I bet you live to regret selling your mog. Mine bleeds me dry on occasions, but on others it makes me a mint. Overall they are a sound investment, IMO, so long as you make full us of them.
  11. It's a big mistake to use an "occasional user" saw commercially. Get a Stihl "professional user" saw and you will really feel the difference.
  12. If want it to jump I just cut a shallower gob.
  13. Really!!!!!!!!! Must be a pain having to change your pants after every tree
  14. Good luck for the new year mate!!!!
  15. If your lucky!! Most once you fill them with fuel, add a few tools and some bodies in the cab struggle to "legally" carry 1ton.
  16. Not legally!! And there is no way there is 2.5 ton on that transit, it would have to be piss wet Beech full of lead shot You are mixing weights and volumes which is always dodgy.
  17. I think your right there. Yet there was a 62 year old guy out cutting all the young guns A some try to say you can't be a production climber past 40, IMO, that utter rubbish

    Rigging Errors

Very important!!, IMO. You could be hit by a huge piece and as long as you go with it, your fine. But if even a fairly small piece hits you against the trunk or a limb, you are in real trouble.

    Rigging Errors

I alway start small and let the groundie get a feel for the weight, than as I make them larger I ask him if he's happy for me to go bigger or not.
  20. He looks like a right little belter!!!
  21. If thats what you want Dean, I hope you get it
  22. My wife got me a back and shoulder massaging seat cushions with heat, very nice.
