  1. Bracket was between the buttresses, tree was alive and looked well, obviously no leaf so cannot comment on leaf size or form, but there was extensive decay around the buttresses.
  2. :confused1:They have NO time period on them, so HOW can they be OUT OF DATE?????????????? Sure new units have been brought in, but there is a new driving test since I took mine, are you saying my driving license is OUT OF DATE?????? I really wish people would deal in FACTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Quoting some work today, this bracket was on a knacked Sycamore. Could I please ask for an ID from you knowledgeable gents Cheers Dave
  4. NPTC certs DO NOT have an expiry date. I have had 20,21,and 22, since 1996 and have no intention of doing any more.
  5. looks to me like a practically minded individual who has found a way to DIY a tree. No one is asking me to go up it so why should I care?
  6. Bugger!!!! Hope it heals fast!!!!!!! Thats why I hardly ever use one, I bought one at the last APF after it was suggested I could not be a professional as I had never owned one. It spends most of its life under the mog seat.
  7. Really good find Pete!!, thanks for posting!!
  8. Sorry. Tell them to ask their God to strike me down instead:001_tongue: Surely he is big enough too fight his own battles
  9. I would only go if I really trusted my contacts and had no dependents.
  10. True! Some people give the written word far more weight than it deserves, just look at the fairy tail called the Bible, SOME claim its the word of God!!!
  11. Mog for working, Disco 3 fore quoting and pleasure, Alfa 145 for when the wife has the Disco and I don't need the Mog.
  12. I know Dean!!!, its called a "Pollard"!!!
  13. Totally agree!! I would always prefer to be on top!!
  14. I take it that goes for dismantling and felling too????? Sooooo the only "skilled" work is those "topiary" type reductions you do ?? I think you are skilled, the real skill you have is getting people to pay for only 10% to 15% off, I can't do it, they just say "well thats not going to make much difference is it ??" and "wont it just grow back in a few years??"
  15. SWB, if your going to try venting the bags you've already filled, I'd try melting slots into them with a red hot poker. You will loose less strength and the slots wont run like they might if you cut them with a Stanley knife.
  16. You do not "legally" need NPTC or PL. If you employ staff you DO "legally" need EL. It really irritates me when people talk about "chainsaw licenses" and say NPTC is LAW, IT IS NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IMO, PL should be a legal requirement, but its not.
  17. Now that I would like too see!!!!!!!!!!! You would be a magician, not a tree surgeon!!
  18. No!!!! and No!!!!!! I do wish people would get the facts straight!!
  19. Looked like an interesting job Mike. Was it some kind of hall or castle?? Looked bloody cold!!!!!!
