  1. Very true!! 24"wheels, AG tyres, and some one who can drive :sneaky2:they will go most places:001_smile:
  2. I would just write it out in a clear and concise manner, with it broken down under suitable headings. In your new procedures to prevent recurrence I would quote the relevant AFAG leaflets. I think it is a mistake to over complicate things. Only my opinion
  3. Good stuff!!!!! Gutted it wasn't Elvis.
  4. It sounds to me that all they want is for you to do explain how the accident was able to happen, and for you to "show" what measures are going to be in place in future to prevent a similar accident from happening again.
  5. Burning IS more efficient and economical than chipping, BUT often there are many reasons preventing you from burning.
  6. Indeed!! Also I think getting insurance for "it" would be interesting, to say the least.
  7. Oh yes!! I've done that on several occasions:blushing: I had a very strict religious up bringing, I did not swear of tell dirty joke until I was 30, I think I lack the required judgment as to how appropriate the situation is on occasions:blushing:
  8. "we are star dust, we are golden and we've got to get ourselves back to the garden":001_cool:
  9. Very sorry for your loss Pete, sounds like a top bloke, the sort no longer seem to be coming up though the ranks!! As for the H&E crap I blame the scum who see an opportunity to cash in when any thing go wrong I know of a nurse who gave CPR to a heart attack victim in Asda, she broke some ribs, but saved their life, they sued!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. You really need a link to a source of this info.
  11. Steady!!!!! one step at a time!!!
  12. Point well made and taken
  13. You sound worse than me, I'm coming down with a cold:thumbdown:, bad head, running nose, sneezing fits, the house is too hot, and about two months work thats supposed too be finished before the end of march. Just had another customer ring to ask why I've not been yet, shes been waiting since October, I had one ring this morning who's been waiting since November.
  14. It has too be "avoidable" to be an "accident".
  15. No cuts, but only 15 years climbing. But if I do injure myself, it will be MY fault, not the jobs.
  16. Jason, I take your point, but I just get sick of people blaming the job for their stupidity. Most people "drive" to work, IMO, thats one of the most dangerous things most of us do. At least when I'm up a tree I'm in control of the situation, I don't have to anticipate the actions of muppets coming the other way or from behind.
  17. Surely he's both stupid AND lucky.
  18. I get really tired of reading statements such as this!! Our job is no more dangerous than many others, its just some PEOPLE are, IMO.
  19. Hope the lads OK. He will really learn from this harsh lesson, as will those who witnessed it, silver lining and all that. I trust the Risk Assessment and Method Statement were in order
  20. I have not and will not be applying for a license. As I don't carry waste My stance is based common sense and my reading of the EA web site, pages of which I have printed of, as they clearly state I don't need a License
