  1. Next time try letting the tyres down, you will not believe the difference it makes We keep a hose in the cab that connects to one of the air tanks so we can blow them back up. You must let them well down, not just a bit.
  2. I believe its because they have been exposed to the light.
  3. I have a man bag, well more of a sack It gets emptied regularly

I would agree with SWB, £5.
  6. If I stop climbing, I will either have to stop eating half the stuff I enjoy , or start going the gym , Or worse still become one of those huge fat ex-climber we all know Think I'll just keep climbing thanks
  7. I believe there is a site called the "chemical shop" or something similar, where these can be purchased. BUT!! BE VERY CAREFUL!!!!!! My mate spent over 9 months on remand, part of the time in strange ways:scared1: ( I did not enjoy going there to visit him) After make some "perfectly legal" purchases. Because the police:mad1: were convinced he was some sort of "bomber" He was finally exonerated after 2 trials. You may have seen it on the national news last year.
  8. Good luck Jason!!! Hope you prosper and more importantly enjoy you new career.
  9. Do you not like your new spikes?????
  10. Where was your rope Could he not see the tail at the base of the tree????
  11. Maybe thats why I was impressed I often have to take a second slice out the bottom of my gobs to get a perfect gob:blushing:
  12. Our lass catching me on the Nigella thread!!!!!
  13. So is it the lack of PPE thats the main problem?
  14. Ok so what was so wrong with his cutting????? He is 72, I think he looked relaxed and confident. I'm not sure the tree did not go just where he wanted.
  15. Very good point Dean. I aways stress to people that they MUST be re cut in the next 3 to 5 years maximum. Often fall's on deaf ears though
  16. Well said that man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. I have never said I am an arborist, I'm a climber. Sorry if it upsets people but, I spend most of my time killing trees. Sometimes it makes me sad to fell a tree and I have often talked people into retaining trees, and that makes me feel good. But if a tree is going to be felled, or cut in half, whether I do it or not, then I may as well do it. I would not and have never, used information I have been given AGAINST a client.
  18. On a back leaner the gob is being put in the tension wood, not the compression wood. The only way you can make the tension wood into compression wood is to apply too much tension on the winch cable, by putting in a shallow back cut first and seeing if the cut closes you can tell if you have removed the compression on the leaning side. I am not say every one should use this technique, but I do feel it is wrong to condemn it.
  19. There has and always will be "more than one way to skin a cat".
  20. It should of read "don't worry" not "do worry", sorry, typo. We often disagree Dean, but I thought that was just part of our relationship. If I have caused offense, you have my sincerest apology. That was not my intention. Sorry Dean
