  1. Yes, I think a burr at the root flair is the "creme de la creme" and very rare.
  2. The root ball is not normally a burr, it is highly figured, but not a true burr. Burr Walnut
  3. WOW!!!!!!!! A chipper........................on tracks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I reckon there could be a market for something like that!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Do they not normally use Burr walnut??
  5. Rolls Royce?? I aways thought that the root ball was used for gun stocks, as the "buttress flair" creates the curve.

  8. At least he could us it to put the gutter back!!
  9. I was thinking "good man Dean, you turned a hour and a half job into 20 minuets!"
  10. I have some soft wood and Pop I will do at a good price if your interested. Are you only wanting small stuff for a processor?? as mine is mostly 12" and over.
  11. Your working too hard mate!!!! You look to have really aged since the AA show!!! Great job!!!
  12. Maybe??, where did you get yours Dean?? were they dear??
  13. I've been listening to radio 4 all day most days for the last 10 years its great. I have, of late, been listen to radio 2 a fair bit.
  14. I listen to GQT and am a BIG fan of the Archers.
  15. Reg, could you not run your own show?? I have 4 children and what I consider to be a high standard of living. If I can make good money, I feel sure you could. I know nothing of your personal circumstances and really do not want to come across as trying to patronise you, as that is in no way my intention. IMO, a skilled hard worker can make GOOD money in this industry. If a guy like you is not making VERY good coin something is very wrong.
  16. Thats the thing Stevie, yours will last for years, because as you say you NEVER sweat!!!!!!!!
  17. Exceptional as always Reg!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for taking the time to share
  18. Tony, I am not saying it should NOT be typed or you should NOT use CAD. But I know people who produce beautiful copper plate hand righting, a report written by them would, IMO, be as good if not better than a typed one, to suggest that is in any way unprofessional, is I feel is very wrong. And if some one has the ability to produce a high quality, accurate sketch plan, then they should be encouraged to use that skill. What you describe is unprofessional and unacceptable, regardless of the method used to produce it.
  19. Often the final cutting is done on a saw with a conveyor, so it is loaded directly into the truck or trailer after the final cut and delivered. So leaving it in long lengths reduces re-handling.
  20. I feel thats fair. If some one does 3 like that and "makes" £600 in a day I think thats great, as they are, IMO, offering value for money, IMO that is very different to a day rate of £500. Its really a form of piece rate.
  21. Are these any good?????????Apache quad 100 on eBay (end time 18-Oct-09 15:15:08 BST)
  22. The ONLY offense you can be found guilty of is "making dark smoke" if you don't make dark smoke they CANNOT touch you. Do believe the crap they tell you, stick to your guns and tell them to go forth and multiply. You must remember that many council officers will have you believe they have far more power than they actually have, I would treat such individuals with the contempt they deserve. FTR, I have a 150KW wood burning boiler with NO after burner, in a smokeless zone and I have written planing consent.
