  1. I'd spotted that, I would have cut down the union and removed the other stem, then felled low. I don't do any milling, but I was aways told by a timber merchant I used to climb for that the bottom bit was the best bit.
  2. Because that will put OTHER people in danger. Also germs cannot be seen, so the danger is NOT obvious. When you see a chain ripping through wood it pretty clear it will do you some SERIOUS damage. IMO, all the health and safety crap makes people think the world is a safe place, because if something is dangerous there will be legislation to make it safe, this is crazy, the world is a fairly dangerous place, we MUST ALL take care.
  3. Good to you back mate!! There has been a tommer shaped hole while you were away.
  4. Nicely done!! Did you not want to mill the best bit at the base???
  5. Its not a "real" one, only 4x4.
  6. I thought I was 80KG, I was 12stone 7pounds for years, but I weighed my self today and was 87KG, I have clearly put on a little middle aged spread Maybe I could come up to Stevie's, when you service his saw ans we could have a squeeze off!!!
  7. I wish that were true, as it would mean I weigh less I must say your lack of trust in me is most upsetting

  12. David was telling us about some mad German who collects twigs, HE then went out and collected twigs What I want to know is if the tree is dropping twigs for the birds and he comes along and STEALS them, how can he call himself a conservationist!!

Its very easy when you do a job for yourself to not put a £ value on your time. In life I find people are either cash rich and time poor or the other way round, IMO, its best to use which ever you have the most of. I have a young family and my weekends have a very high value to me, so I pay for any repairs or fabricating I need doing.

LOL!!!!!!!! So true Steve, its about time you had to be registered to make tipper backs, like the Corgi scheme, stop these cowboys doing their own!!!
  16. Hehehe!! I was just thinking about this today. Just been and had a go, 98KG.
  17. Push the pin up from inside jaws. It will then come down, its designed to be released by the draw bar eye as it goes under the pin. Use a bar or spanner to lever it up.
  18. I would not have even noticed the wires if they are 20M away Although I have been known to remove the odd woodland with LV running through the middle of it
  19. 20M!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why not just get on with it???????????????
  20. Yes I think you are right, its been a long week, lol. Pay 5% and run.
