  5. I am lucky enough to live quite close to Dick Leigh, who must be one of if not the best saw mecanic in the country, I first went to his work shop (in his garage at the time) with my dad when I was around 10. I was once at an AA seminar when some one told me they sent their saws 400 miles to be fixed by Dick. I have never had any issues with bolts coming out of any of my saws and none of them get serviced, they only get worked on when they break. I have a 12year old 66 that has only ever had a new filter cover because it was hit by a tree and a chain brake handle. So maybe if they are set up right they are good for life??
  6. Did that price include the TM ??
  7. Does your lease give them the right to do this?? I only ask as if it does not, you could well be a "sitting tenant" and could either stay put or get some financial compensation for leaving.
  8. This so true, I had 2M for years, but about 4 years ago I started getting asked if I had 5M all the time, so upped mine, its been 5M ever since.
  9. How come Stihl have managed to over come all these issues
  10. No you don't!! How much work can he do??He cannot do it all. He's probable not very good at the job any way or he would not need to advertise the way he is, so he will no doubt get very little repeat business. If his advert does bring in loads of work, he will soon be booked up, meaning people will have to go else where, which is where you come in. If you cut your price to match his, then he will just cut his further and you will both end up working for nothing. I am often the cheapest price, but only because I have the equipment and work in a more efficient manner. So I do the job for less but make more profit than many of my competitors.
  11. Not if its re-cut before the weight gets too great.
  12. Your clearly not as fast a climber as I thought you were
  13. If an Arb does it, its "fracture pruning", if any one else does it, its a crime:sneaky2:
  14. I thought every one was on fully synthetic two stroke these days.
  15. No you weren't, I said that your coment makes you sound small and bitter, big difference How could I say you are small and bitter, I don't know you. This is only a forum, we can only coment on peoples posts
  16. If its maintained under PUWER, those things won't happen
  17. I was told burning your potato peelings on a hot fire has the same affect.
  18. How is it going to fail???
  19. If you get it with a new saw its only an extra £50 over the standard 36".
  20. The reason for that is in TCD's post, above yours
  21. I'm 41 in October, still do all my own climbing and I find my knees are better now than they used to be. The only real down sides I have found to getting a little longer in the tooth are, I put weight on round the middle very easily and have to be careful what I eat:blushing: And HAIR!!! too little on my head and too much up my nose and in my ears!!!!
  22. Get a Saturday job in a supermarket or MacDonald's or some other mind blowingly boring job, where you are working with people with an IQ in single figures. Who's only topics of conversation are 1) What they will do when they win the lottery. 2) Where they are going on their holiday. 3) What happened in last night soap. After working there for about half an hour, your current position will feel like heaven. Before I got into tree work I did 9 months in a factory, working with such people, I'm so glad I did. If I'm climbing a Hawthorn in the pouring rain, with the water running down the back of my neck and thorns cutting me to ribbons, I just think back to those days. I suddenly feel very blessed
