  1. I would say its an older saw with a new tank/handle.
  2. Interesting, I have never seen any "sanitation felling" around hear. I think most feel the fight was lost years ago. There is no mention of the size of the trees being affected, if they are young trees they are not affected until they reach a certain size, so you can hedgerow full of youngish Elms that all die together as they reach the required size. There were 100's of mature Elms in Blackpool that have died in the last couple of years, I wondered if the see air had helped keep the beetle at bay for all this time?? There are still some large Elms around, but even some tree men seem unable to ID them, many years ago I had an argument with a lad at Fountain's he said that some large Elms in Preston were Rough Barked Limes, we were driving past so I could not get a leaf to prove my point. I have since removed the five largest, due to DED, funny I did not realise Limes got it:001_rolleyes: I also remember the tree climber from Que who was on the TV (meetings with RT) said he had never seen a large living Elm, I visited London for the first time 5 years ago and free climbed a large Elm in one of the parks.
  3. No you ring it up and let them collect the rings from site at a £10, so your not having to transport it.
  4. Why use a dogtooth against the weight???
  5. Nice one, looks great!! Do you think it will bring in much business???
  6. Good point, but it was cut high as there was a wire fence fastened to it, that was staying.
  7. This Beech was weighted to one side, so I finished my hing at that side, then cut the other side until it went Please feel free to extract the urine
  8. Whats up with it?????????
  9. True, but this is Arb, which is about removing a tree not producing timber. You would look well using a tiny gob to save the log, then ringing it up. A large gob just makes tipping the tree easier, I've asked this before, but no one has come up with a good explanation for why big gobs are bad.

    Damn poplar

Wrong tree, you should be thinking of Cricked Bat Willow.
  11. Why:confused1: If you asked, Hardwood?? or Softwood??, I could see the sense, but I don't see how logging and felling, aren't forestry??
  12. Do you have an explanation as to why?? Or are you just going off what you were taught??
  13. Not sure this is true, these days many just ask for a MEWP.

    Damn poplar

Me too, so I sell mine by the arctic load, and every one gets a few sticks of pop
  15. Tony you sound even more disillusioned than ever. I don't feel looked down upon or unappreciated or disrespected. I set my own rate of pay, so if I'm under paid its my doing. I'm not having a go here, I'm just saying that its maybe not the industry as a whole that feels the way you do and maybe its time for you to try and change how you feel about the things that happen to you. Could it be your interpretation of the way those you deal with treat you?? It just seem a real shame that some one with you obvious talents and love for our trade, feel so under valued and bitter.
  16. I tend to stay home when its wet, but some times you have carry on regardless or go bust.
  17. We're always being told this sort of thing, have you got one example of this??Its like the old if you don't have all your tickets your insurance won't pay out Says WHO????? I wrote of one car and very badly damaged another, the police just took my details and sent me on my way.
  18. Because its the LA's job to stick their nose in other people business, not mine
