  3. This is such a great thread!! I can't believe no one thought of it before!! Its going to get a HUGE post count!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. As I understand it, we used to use more oil, ie 25:1, because the oil was not as good. Now we have high quality oils, you don't need as much, ie 50:1
  5. Summer felled Ash if around 50% moisture. Seasoned fire wood should be around 20% moisture. Many woods are 150% moisture when felled, so yes Ash burns well fresh compared to many other woods, but will be much better seasoned.
  6. Sounds like you may need a little work on your diplomatic skills.
  7. Could you do a deal with a local firewood merchant, to exchange a large quantity of unseasoned timber for a smaller quantity of seasoned??
  8. Did you ask what profession he was in???
  9. Were you drinking at the time
  10. The main problem I see with back doors is you are really weakening the chip box, as you will only have one solid side. As for the lid, I have in the past used mesh, the sort gardeners use for wind breaks. But I have no lid on the one I have been using for the last 8 years, its handy to be able to crane stuff into the chip box.
  11. I only watched the first one, but I think you really have got it wrong mate. Hes talking about the way people blame others (parents, etc) and circumstance, for there own failures. Or thinking they are worthless because their too tall, too short, not good looking, etc. He is saying you need to accept who you are, stop making excuses for not doing the things you want or should be doing and just pull your socks up and get on. As I said earlier its just good sound common sense (IMO) But some times we need the most obvious things pointing out too us.
  12. Hehehe, a good machine beats a poor man every time
  13. Must stop posting in here, we must be pushing the post count right up:sneaky2:
  14. :001_rolleyes:Excuses,excuses:001_rolleyes:
  15. So thats not for rough tree killing types, like me
  16. I took my two girls swimming, the wife forgot her costume, so I have look after them both. This afternoon I had 2 glasses of Baileys and fell asleep in my chair.
  17. This is such a great thread!!!
  18. When they galvanize a landy chassis, how do they stop it from twisting???
  19. I was only thinking the other day when watching the felling of all that Larch due to SOD on the news, many of them were covered in ivy and were being felled by an excavator with a processor head. Any nesting birds would have had no chance.
  20. Wheel barrows are good.
  21. With you now I was trying to work out how on earth you could cut without a bar.
  22. :confused1:How????????????
