  1. This is a good point and why the utility Co's destroy the used climbing gear and ladders, they are cut in half and then weighed in for scrap. Anyone who has ever worked for a large organisation knows that when you want replacement items you take the old ones to stores where they decide if they need replacing or not and you then generally leave the old item for them to dispose of. Why don't one of the people who feel that buying gear of staff is fine email their local utility Co and see if the management are happy for you to buy equipment off their staff. Please post the reply email on here.
  2. Can you slow the rollers??? They look to be going pretty fast, if they went a little slower, the no stress may cut in less and actually speed up the chipping.
  3. Don't get too excited, stump grinding really is pretty dull.
  4. Yes I started out as a subbie on line clearance, so I do know how it works. Please tell me what I don't get????
  5. You tell yourselves that to ease your concience, but in reality you know they are not theirs to sell, so selling their employers property is theft, plain and simple. Yes they will be issued with new items, they just tell their manager the others were stolen. The fact that you said "nearly new" says it all.
  6. Don't think thats a little david, the handles on the wrong end.
  7. PM "PeteB" he works for Greenmech.
  8. Its in my yard, your more than welcome to come take a look, I'll give you a call tomorrow.
  9. If your into buying stollen goods. Do you have staff??? If you do how would you feel if they started selling your gear???
  10. I'm around 10 miles from Skipton and have about 60 tonnes available at the moment, can to arrange transport or would you need me to organise it?? Like "treedave" mines not processor size.
  11. Answered your own question there mate
  12. Jon you have an iPhone mate, read the manual.
  13. Why do you weight more than a Landy?????
  14. Most modern cars have power steering.
  15. I would get some more quotes, what you have described there sounds nearer £500+VAT to me, the hight of the stumps is pretty irrelevant, as that can just be cut off with a saw, unless its badly contaminated. IMO, grinding those is better left to some one with experience. Is the access good???
  16. Sounds nasty, hope he makes a full recovery real soon.
  17. Some mogs are hydrostatic, I think you were given duff info there mate.
  18. If the fly wheel is not directly driven by the PTO it could be geared up by pulleys or a gearbox to turn faster than the PTO.
  19. Really, is it geared up ?? I thought to get 1000 RPM at the PTO the mog had to be revving much higher than that, but I could be wrong.
  20. £1000!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That sounds a lot, unless they are truly HUGE!! Where are you???
  21. If the bearings won't take the speed, use the 540 and rev higher, that way you'll have more torque.
  22. Thats very low revs, to get 1000 RPM at the PTO, you need to be at 2400 RPM I believe. I run mine at 1800, this saves fuel, but if I'm doing a lot of big stuff or very wet conifer I up it to 2000 RPM. Are the bearing grease able???
  23. Its really weird, but I removed a Sycamore from a Ford Focus on Sunday afternoon!!! I guess there are a great many Ford Focus's out there.
