  1. Why should they care if some muppet want to loose money cutting their grass. This thread is very amusing, how often do we have threads asking for the cheapest supplier for some item or service, I've never read a post where people are concerned that a saw supplier may not be covering their costs and really should not discount their saws so much We are all in control of what we charge and who we work for, as they said on Grange Hill "just say no"
  2. Thats the problem!!! the more successful our defence services are the less they are appreciated!!! The fact that we have not had a serous attach for some time shows they are on the ball and keeping us safe, personally I'm very grateful for all their good work!!! Long may it continue and if they say they need curtain tools to get the job done, I say give them the bloody tools and let them get the job done!!!!!!
  3. TBH I think passengers would be far more likely to be a real issue to terrorists, post 9/11, as happened with the second Pentagon plane. If you know inaction will lead to certain death for your family (if they are with you), your going to put your owner safety to one side and get stuck in, imho.
  4. I'm amazed by the number of people who climb on a short line, but insist on an aerial rescue groundie, I would sooner have a long rope than a climbing groundie every time, if things go bad your best chance is self rescue, changing my TIP while losing claret is not my idea of fun!!!!
  5. Whats the replacement????? Pictures??????
  6. You believe the the twin towers disaster was done by the US. Most of us don't, if the planes that hit the twin towers had be shot down before they hit, there would have be many deaths, but nothing on the scale of what did happen. If its a choice between shooting down a plane causing 100's to die or letting it hit the Olympic stadium causing 1000's to die, I would go for the former in a heartbeat.
  7. The square cabs are a safety cab, so you don't really new a roll cage. If you really want one Alex Price has made several.

  9. The Schiesling as a reversing box built in, the Duckers are built to run the same way as the front PTO, the disadvantage of this is that on LHD mogs the chute comes up in front of the driver, so needs to be folded down when traveling. So a standard PTO chip driven through a revers gear box has the advantage of the chute being able to be left up for transit. (on LHD mogs)
  10. He said it weighed 2600, not it was plated at 2600.
  11. I tried assorts, I tapered the chute down slightly, my theory being that the chip decelerated as the volume of air in the chip reduced, it did not work. The Schiesling has a chute as you have described, so you could be right. EDIT, thinking about it the Schliesling chute also tappers down in size, so maybe my theory has some merit after all???
  12. The OP was referring to cleaning of uniform, not purchasing, I'm not sure the T-shirts with the council logo on are available in TOP SHOP
  13. Thats interesting, any pictures?? What were you chipping?? My Ducker (without blower) which is basically a TP was great on timber, but wet laylandii was a nightmare. Maybe I was just unlucky, but it was a very frustrating and expensive experience, that I don't want others to have the same problems I had. My advice would be to set up a test for the chipper before you go the trouble of fitting it to the front. You need to extend the shoot enough to go over the cab and then try chipping some wet laylandii with very little timber in it. Its not just a case of seeing how far the chipper throws the chip, its about when the chip starts to drop, as the chip drops, bits land in the bottom of the shoot and then builds up and it blocks.
  14. Bandits are great chippers, the problem is they are just so heavy.
  15. That should be all you need, if your working for a decent Co.
  16. Run my schiesling at 1800 rpm on the 1000 PTO, I tried the first Ducker at 2600 rpm 1000, but it still did not have enough blow, the one with the blower was great.
  17. Are you able to post the pic's or a link??? I'm always interested in other options.
  18. But are they blowing chip into the rear body????, they may just chip onto the ground or into a trailer. Theres a 12" Jensen on earborist, but the shoot on that is not ever high enough to go over the cab, let alone long enough to fill the rear body.
  19. I tried that, but all your doing is bringing a flat plate over the cab, so if the chip is not blown past the cab so it can fall down it just piles up on the bit of the chip box that extends over the cab and you have to keep pushing it back with a rake
  20. I had a S/H Ducker without blower, it was fine in the winter chipping hard wood, but once the leaves were on or conifer it just kept blocking the discharge shoot, I had extra paddles fitted to the flywheel, but it still would not blow leafy chip properly. In the end I changed it for a brand-new Ducker with blower. The Shiesling is the only front mount chipper I know of that will blow chip into the rear body without an additional blower.
  21. No its for cleaning the uniform, not buying it.
  22. The problem with putting it on front linkage is that the chipper being further forward increases the loading on the front axel, this can be overcome by putting weights on the rear, but then that reduces the amount of chip the mog can carry. A DIN plate is the best way, the Ducker lifts its self on and off, the Schieslings have jacking legs that you fit when you want to remove it. Also moving the chipper further away from the mog means your trying to throw the chip even further. Blowing the chip over the cab is a major issue with front mount chippers, I wasted a lot of time years ago struggling with this.
  23. Read that to my girls so many times!!!!! I like the dog best
